Re: Woodward GTO

I think it was done along with the Colorado by some young GM engineers for fun.

Re: Woodward GTO

I think that what we are seeing here is indeed a concept, but not nessecarily just for a fun styling excercise, the amount of money spent to do this concept by GM and the engine it has(does anyone even know if its the LS2 or LS7?) tells me its not just a story about how some up-and-coming young engineers raided the Gm parts bin and created this.

I believe this is GM testing the waters on how a third variation of the GTO, possibly judge would go down (it is after all orbit orange).

check out these pics i found by chance in a totally unrelated forum, they seem to be GM drawings.

2005 gto LS2
'05 GTO front
'05 GTO back (this one seems to have the '05 rear valance, but still single sided exhaust ) which has since been changed to dual exits.

2005 GTO LS2 (Autocross)
AutoX front
AutoX back (of particular interest; there was a pic in ls1tech and dyno see here

GTO Woodward concept
'05 ??Judge front?? (maybe a slightly toned down version of the concept, still has the wide body though)
'05 ??Judge back?? (exhaust exits in a more conventional matter, still four pipes though)

Re: Woodward GTO

I know GTO will eventially get a recessed grill like we've been seeing on every GTO concept GM touches. I seriously doubt it will look like the Woodward GTO though.

I suspect the theme of the front end may be a hint of the next GTO, however. Ditto the induction system.

Re: Woodward GTO

I know I'm late to the thread, but both of those concepts went from sketch, to what you saw in the pictures at the Dream Cruise in less than 2 months.

I had the chance to speak with the members on both projects at the Athens Coney Island during the Cruise and all were tight lipped about "what are we looking at as far as the future goes" for both concepts.

The feeling I got was the GTO concept was testing waters, but on exactly what I have no clue. I'm thinking design elements.

Also, the Colorado concept was made essentially for the powertrain. The body you see, the styling you see was specific to the powertrain. I was told the powertrain is 110% working and is an absolute powerhouse in the Colorado concept.

I'm thinking Silverado SS

I have sound/video that I took of the GTO over at C&G if people are interested. A user also has an video as well with sound. Talk about LOUD!
