Usually the voice of the minority, I think it's actually a bland car without the wind. I like high profile rear wings, such as the Ferrari F40 and 1992 Z28.

Re: Wingless Cobalt SS ....pic

if the SS does need to have a special spoiler, why not look at what the Cobalts that really race use? A smaller version of the ProStock spoiler would be perfect for the SS and would tie in with Chevrolet's racing stuff more. Just don't even TRY to integrate the ProStock hoodscoop into any production model...

I was VERY tempted to buy the blue Cobalt SS with blue leather interior that was in the showroom at the dealership that I bought my Silverado from. Too bad AWD isn't available on these like it is supposed to be on the Dodge Caliper.

You are not alone in your opinion. Without the wing, it looks like any other Cobalt coupe now. The wing my be a really cheap way for GM to differentiate the Cobalt SSs from the lesser Cobalts, but in the end it works.

I still think they should use the duck-tail spoiler on that car, especially with the Camaro coming back. It would be a good way to tie into the pedigree and heritage.

And Tim, I think you (and I) are probably more mainstream in our like of spoilers. The manufacturers aren't putting them on every thing out there for nothing.

The spoiler delete does the car alot of justice.

I like that look. I also liked the spoiler from the last Cavalier Z/24's. Probably the coolest looking spoiler (IMO) out there right now is the Monaro CV8R/Vauxhall VXR's.

I think your car is SHARP!!!

I like the idea of a ducktail spoiler (so much so that I decided to put one on my GTO)!

Re: Wingless Cobalt SS ....pic

That makes the Cobalt SS look MUCH better, though I'd still want a small spoiler.

Just not the one that looks like it belongs on back of a shopping cart...

I don't really care for polished rims. I prefer a brushed (ie-matte) finish.

Nice Cobalt! I like them both with and without the spoiler. Same with my GTO. Sometimes I run with my spoiler on, other times off...

Re: Wingless Cobalt SS ....pic

I love the clean look of a GTO without the wing and even better with the HSV Ducktail.
As for the Cobalt SS, I dunno...I actualy kinda like the wing. Maybe its the inner ricer, but the wing deffinatly offsets the car well. And you never know when you will need all that downforce!!!

Re: Wingless Cobalt SS ....pic

Im considering a cobalt ss as an all year round car an Z as pure weekend and i was thinkin if gm doesnt offer a delet for the spoiler i bet u could get them to swap with a base cobalt on the lot, granted they're the same colour. i dont see it being to hard to convince an anxious salesman who wants to sell a car to do that. just my .02.....nice gto's by the way, none here in canada, never even seen one in person
