I see how much these cars are going for and they are about 10 yrs old now and the command price is still steep...will these new RWD performance car drop that price to something that might be more manageable..I thought when the Mercury Merauder came out it would but it didnt..and now thats gone

I like these new 4 door performance cars and they haul *** and carry people..

but love the old Impys for the style ...and would love to have one..and 18K for a 10 yr old car is not my cup of tea..

You can buy them for less, but the car will be rough. The 96 is the one to have. I just saw a black 96 with 325 miles on it bring $30,000 on ebay. I bought my 96 brand new, I still have it. One of the best driving cars I have ever owned.
I dont think new rwd 4 doors will affect the classic 94-96 Impala SS price. They have a personality and attitude the newer cars just dont have. Its an old school, body on frame, low tech car....and thats why I like em!

I doubt it. The only way that would possibly happen is if the new impalas have the muscle car look like the 94-96.

I was thinking about buying a 94-96 Impala SS(had to bee Grey-Green Metallic) until I looked at how much they cost. Two years ago a really clean one with less than 50K miles commanded 13-16K. Then I decided on the LT1 Camaro, drove one and thought it was the shizzit. Then I drove a LS1 and have never looked back.

I always thought it would have been cool to buy a 94-96 LT1 equipped Caprice wagon and give it the full SS treatment. Drop it about 2" put a serious suspension on it, and maybe build a stroker under the hood. It would be great running 11's in a street driven wagon.

I seriously doubt it . Not only , obviously , are they not readily available ...the desire is still quite high for them . And across a broad range of people . The Impala SS , imo , was an instant classic and prices I think will always reflect that .
