Which will last longer? A Ford? Or a Honda?

Interested in seeing what everyone picks.
Which car will go longer without needing a major repair between a Honda and a Ford vehicle? Didn't want to make it car to car specific, but if you feel the need, you could line up something along the lines of a Escort to a Civic (looking at older cars to gauge more mileage, but if you feel you need a modern comparasin, then you can do Focus to a Civic). Major repair is considered to be headgasket, rear main seal or something mechanically large to go wrong (not really a wear item like the battery or tires). Also, which will go longer before it finally dies (ending mileage). I am figuring the answer will be the same brand vehicle for both, but if not, please post it.
This was started because the last thread like this on was GM instead of Ford, and being on a GM board I did not want it biased.

This is pretty stupid because there are to many variables. Area we talking 80s, 90s, or todays models? Are we talking about including or excluding regular maintenance? What are we considering minor vs major? Do a bunch of minor things count as 1 major?
Also nobody can vote because nobody can know for sure. Find another way to prove your right, because this isn't going to solve anything.

Certain civics likes to eat CV joints at around 80,000 miles, others Honda's ate transmissions at around 100,000 miles. I see quite a few Civic's for sale on Craigslist daily that need engines. Making a comparison such as this is not really possible. I've had several "ünreliable" Ford models last over 200,000 miles and were still going strong when I got rid of them.
they actually say that once a car has reached a certian age everything that will break has already done so and the rest of the car should just hold together with no more problems
