Unless I'm reading the tea leaves wrong (very possible), a coupe version will be on display at this year's NAIAS.

I agree... there was nothing inspiring about the Bel Air at all...

Don't understand why it is being pursued... I don't believe to many people have been drooling over it.

The new Bel Air is great...

For me to poop on!

Maybe they'll come with some 33" muddin tires to complete its 4x4 stance!

I too, am perplexed by all this.

While the BelAir may have been an interesting mechanical concept, (taking off the shelf truck parts to creat a cheap RWD car), it was a design disaster!

One has to ponder what is actually going on at GM, with all of this.

Enthusiasts are literally clamoring for a new Camaro, that no one at GM wants to even talk about (let alone build)....but a show car concept loser that no one really wants,(most are still recovering from the trauma of seeing it), is being put on the front burner.

Go figure.

THANK YOU! I'm trying to have faith, believing that GM is pulling out of its doldrums...but at the same time I really have to wonder if GM is going to build the cars its customers want or if they are just going to build what a few top brass want to shove upon us.

Thumbs down

I think the entire concept to reality bit was screwed up this year......

The Cien, a car that I heard absolutely nothing negative about, has been shelved because of economic conditions.... Funny Ford is bleeding red ink, and they can still find it feasible to build the GT40.

The Solstice has been on again, off again..... GEEZ, I wish they would just give us a straight answer. BUILD IT!

The Bel Air, which was an okay car, albeit NOT a Bel Air, disappeared for the better part of a year, and now all of the sudden is being rushed to production. (Lets hope the production version is better tweaked than the show car.)

And the Sky was automatically canned, and it's just the type of vehicle Saturn needs to pull itself out of the slump......

What gives?

The Bel Air was on the right track, but the front and rear need some serious redesign. The car needs to look lower and wider. I hope they give it a second shot.

I think that one thing that the BelAir illustrates is that it is hard to build a car off of a truck platform, and have it have the proper stance.

When I saw the BelAir at the Chicago show, it was lowered so severely that the tires were virtually rubbing on the inner fender lip.....and yet it still appeared to be sitting much too high.

Maybe GM is just sending out all these really crappy concept cars to divert our attention. Just so they can secretly be building a brand new awesome Camaro for us. (yeah right) Oh wait I just woke up.

Yeah, this whole show car season from GM, and the direction they are taking is perplexing.

BTW, a lower and wider 2dr Bel Air would look suspiciously like... A FOOKIN CAMARO.

Don't get me started on the SSR again... I saw it at the Dream Cruise...

gotta breathe.... out with the bad, in with the good... OH F*CK!!!!.... I CAN'T HOLD IT BACK!!!!! ARRRRRGH!!!!!!

WHAT THE LIVING F*CK WERE YOU PEOPLE THINKING?!?!?!?!?!?

According to the latest reports, the Bel Air would be priced MUCH lower than the T-Bird.

According to SS teh Bel Air scored higher than the Solstice according to people polled at the NAIAS. Supposedly its a looker in person.
