It's a common misconception that Colorado is a pickup version on TrailBlazer... it is not.

It is a joint venture with Isuzu, and I am not sure if the I6 would even fit....

I guess I had that common misconception, thanks for the clarification.

Check out the engine that was in the Bel Air Concept car a couple of years ago.

That was a turbo I5. If memory serves me, the I6 won't fit into the Colorado/Canyon.

Yes, the TrailBlazer is on the GMT360 platform, Colorado is on the GMT355.

If the I6 doesn't fit, I'd at least think a V8 should, or 60° V6.

I'd like to see one of the Isuzu 3.0L 4 cyl. Diesels in the Colorado.

I know it was a line 5 turbo. I was trying to tell re1080 to think about that for a minute (i.e. the line 5 is already in the Colorado, and GM has already shown a boosted line 5 in a concept vehicle). BTW, I believe the Bel Air concept was actually sitting right on a GMT355 frame, rear leaf springs and all.

Also, in some recent articles about the ZQ8-equipped Colorados, there has been mention of a more powerful version of the line 5 possibly coming some day.

Actually the Hummer H3T concept which is on the GMT355 has a 350HP Turbo I5 in it too.

It ain't so. Not in the near future, anyway (though some of the luxury cars are trying to get to that point - I'd wager that most luxury buyers don't service their own cars). Rest assured that the underhood of the H3 will not look quite like that in production.

Don't worry, they'll probably hide 3/4 of the engine under the cowl like in my 4th gen.

I have a 2002 Trailblazer with the 4.2 I6, a 2004 Colorado with an I5, and a tape measure that tells me the I6 won't fit in the Colorado.
