If this car came here "as is", it sure would be hard not putting it near the top of my list.

Is that AWD turbo 2.8L?

I'd love to have that car with a manual but I'd rather have the SIDI 3.6L or LNF. The 2.8 is a pig (or at least was in the Saab)

I like this picture better

Good article about this new Buick = http://www.autoblog.com/2009/11/23/2...l-first-drive/

Not me. It weighs 150 lbs more than Camaro and is substantially smaller in every dimension.

Being a family man now I would say yes.

would it be a great 2 door? sure. But the idea is to sell as many as possible and a 4 door sports sedan right now is a bigger hit with people that would want this type of car than a 2 door version.

Personally I think 4 door is not a stigma anymore with the eye on performance.

I dunno. On one hand it is an attractive car like all Opels. The flip side is..rebadging Opels as Saturns did not work..and I don't think it will work with Buicks either. I also don't think most people who buy cars like this would care about things like turbo's and manual transmissions. They just want something a few shevles uf from Chevy/Honda/Toyota with more style. I think to most people under 50...it is gonna take a lot of work to get Buick anywhere near stylish.

I think of it like I dunno..Kmart. You could remodel Kmart into a Target competitor overnight...but it would take probaly a decade of hard work to get Targets customers away. I don't think GM has the stomach for that. They sure didn't with Saturn.

On a side note..I am thinking owning a Buick/GMC dealer would be a pretty crappy existance right now.

It is virtually identical in length to the Camaro.

I don't think a 4 door is a stigma either. And if you have a family -- 4 doors, 5 seats, a hot motor, responsive chassis and manual trans are made to order (for me anyways).

Not me. If I needed a 4-door GM sedan I'd look at a CTS before I'd look at a Buick.

Depends on pricing.

Personally, I think the new Taurus SHO is the package to beat, but I wouldn't buy one. Not because I think it's a bad car, actually it sets a new standard.

If I were in a sedan buying mood, I'd want a RWD sedan with "Don't Mess With Me" looks. At the moment, that spells (in order) Dodge Charger SRT8, Chrysler 300 SRT8, or Cadillac CTS-V.

I don't look at this Opel sedan as bad either. I think GM should most certainly offer it, as nowadays there any new car that is on sale in Europe also meets US emission standards, and safety standards between us and the rest of the 1st world is simply a matter of electronics.

The initial batch of new buick Regals will come right off the Opel assembly line in Germany onto ships and onto American shores. So there is no reason whatsoever why this Buick Regal can not find it's way amongst the other Regals coming off the assembly line headed for the US.

All it takes is a word from Fritz.

Agreed 100%! This, coming from a guy with a 500+ WHP GTO for sale. There is plenty of room in the back, but getting my daughter in and out is a PITA.

That would definitely be a Buick I'd consider...VERY sharp car!
