Who would ever buy Chrysler from Daimler?

My only thought would be either Honda or Toyota but I assume DC will make the merger work even though the failure of Mitsu might cause serious problems with bringing the 2008 MY PT Cruiser (and other vehicles) to the market on time.

The next-gen Neon is already on track for 06 MY since most of the engineering and design has been completed but future small and midsize cars could be seriously delayed if Mitsu gets out of the consumer car market, even though DC could take complete control of the joint-venture Normal IL plant.

I would buy a Crossfire or anything Chrysler if its good, We owned a 2002 PT cruiser we picked that had 11miles on it. but then we figured out the market was going to drop because they were bringing out the PTGT so we got rid of it. & we were right.

But hell yea Chrysler makes good sporty type cars.

No he means who would buy the Company Chrysler? Would it be GM or Ford or Toyota.

I would bet that Dailmer would run it into the ground and suck it dry before they sold it.

Why would we care? Dodge & Chrysler are owned by a German company now. lol GM most likely will not want it they would just take the workers (Remember Bob Lutz worked for Chrysler before coming to work for GM).

Ford will not

& Toymotors well that name says it all. lol

I could see Honda wanting Dodge for the Trucks and GM could merge Hummer and Jeep into one killer off-road brand i guess, but the Chrysler brand is neither a cheap brand or a true luxury brand and thats a tough place to be in the current market place.

Me. (Just need some donations)

I think it would get very ugly very quickly if this ever happened bcuz of the banks that have money invested in DC. If there was a split between the two, I think it would be the end of Chrysler.

I don't think D & C would split, but just to play along, I think johnsocal is on the right track, Honda & Dodge would make a nice par. I could see Dodge tuning into a GMC type line-up.

Jeep would go good merged with hummer.

Chrysler would be best off being the cheaper baby brother the Mercedes so that Mercedes can go back upscale and stop devalueing its brand with $20K range cars. Think of Chrysler to Mercedes as Buick is to Cadillac.

I really like Daimler and Chrysler together, look at what htey have done so far....

Mercedes parts in your 300C.
Chrysler crossfire underpinnings from a mercedes.

And yes, Chrysler will have more appeal, just look at the 300, tell me where else you can get bang for hte buck?!?!?!!?

Practicly a Mercedes E class with ballz, for $32k. I would buy a chrysler before any american brand/mark. Well, maybe cept caddie, but come on, compare the cts to 300c, not even close.

the chrysler designs are pure elegence, the new cars have presence, they bring to market what hte people want. Trucks that do the hard work, Luxury at a great price. Take a look at Pacifica? Here I see them on every corner, Pt Cruisers, Sebrings,

the new LX platform just dots the I's in what you will see as DCX taking over quite a bit of market share. To tell you guys the truth, the new DCX lineups, even ford to some extent, excite me much much more than GM. But I love my camaro. lol. I mean flashback to mid 90's, you have the fbodies, the impallas, look at it now, especially late 90's to early 2000's, besides the silverado, I dont see one exciting gm product, besides the Fbody which was axed for a fe years and the vette.

Who'd buy Chrysler from Damlier? You wouldn't be able to pry Chrysler out of Daimler's cold dead hands, especially now.

Pacifica is turning into a hot seller, Crossfires are likely to see their production numbers upgraded very soon, the wait for a new 300 is 2 months & dealers are selling every single one they get (without markups at least here in Monterey county), the Dodge Ram is a hit as usual, the Durango is moving very well & most all it's buyers are springing for the Hemi, they have a Charger coming that's going to be the quickest production car Chrysler has ever made save the current Viper (directly from a person working in SRT), all of their FWD cars will share a common chassis from what seems to be a soon defunct Mitsubishi car division, the FWD Sebring convertible is the best selling convertible in the US (nope, not Mustang), and the Neon SRT-4 is selling about 4 or 5 times more than it's original projection.

Daimler seems to have a newfound appriciation of Chrysler, so it's safe to say they wouldn't sell. Chrysler seems runs best when they are independent, let their people loose, and have their backs against the wall.

Hate to say it, but if any other automaker bought Chrysler now (including Japanese brands) they'd ruin it, just like Mercedes did till just about a year ago.
