Where should GM advertise for the new Camaro?
Where should GM advertise for the new Camaro?
I was just looking at the threads about Motor Trend and I just was wondering where GM should advertise when they bring out the new Camaro? I mean, some mags have been downright evil in their past reviews of the 4th gen, particularly Car and Driver with "If this one's Playboy, that one's Hustler" when comparing Camaro and Firebird. Or how about C&D's remark about F-bodies all ending up in trailer parks?
How do you sell a car after remarks like that?
So, who should get the ads for the F5 Camaro? It has to be a mass audience. FHM? GQ? Popular Mechanics? If you were the head of marketing where would you go to let everyone know the Camaro is back? Who should be allowed to review it? Bear in mind you need positive press, not snotty remarks from people who simply don't understand musclecars.

Re: Where should GM advertise for the new Camaro?
Depends on who the target audience is gonna be really. If it's a younger type, bombard the internet with ads and a few tv slots. If it's geared towards slightly older guys (and girls I suppose), show it on tv again and put ads in newspapers or something.

Everywhere, but in the beginning it should be meaningful. They should try to make it out to be more than just another new car introduction - for everyone not just for us loonies. I would love to see GM advertise it at the superbowl with a long ad.
