since the pontiac solstice was just released to dealers, how much farther behind should we expect the saturn sky to be?

saturn's website says nothing other than "Early 2006"

also, i might have missed it, but have prices / options been released for the sky?

 

Not sure about the date. The Solstice is an '06 model, but I think the Sky is going to be an early release '07 model. I think.

I haven't seen prices/options broken down individually, but I believe they said it would base at 24,995 (5k more than Solstice). That price reportedly includes most of the optional stuff on the Solstice as standard on the Sky.

Someone else in here may have more recent/detailed info than that.

Around here, dealers are telling me January for the soltice and summer of '06 for the sky. I don't want to wait another 8 months for a sky.

 

That sounds about right. Like I said, I think technically the Solstice is an '06 MY car (now it will be a late-release '06), while the Sky is slated to be an '07 MY car. The Skys that have been photographed at various dealerships are part of a cross-country promotional tour. None are for sale; I believe there is a dandied-up 18 wheeler (or more than one) traveling around with a Sky or two in it, doing promo work at Saturn dealerships.

 

and my dealership employees said the HHR will be here in 07... comon you gonna believe those guys? seeing the HHR is on the showroom floor now?

 

The HHR was released as an '06 model. Some dealers are just idiots...(or badly ignorant/misinformed).

HHR = '06 MY
Solstice = '06 MY (but later)
Sky = '07 MY (hopefully early enough to be available for the summer months of '06)

 

Several of the first 1000 limited edition Solstices have already been delivered to their owners with many more in transit. Pontiac expects to have the current 10,000 sold orders on the road by the end of December.

 

Solstices started shipping to dealers earlier this month. However they won't have 10,000 on the road the end of by December. Full year production is only 20,000, and there's barely 4 months left in 2005. And production is still ramping up.

 

10k Solstices before years end. Also the Sky starts production in January.

 

10,000 Solstices have been sold already?

GM should pay attention to this, built a stylish, affordable, fun car and it will sell.

 

Final total: about half that (5445 Solstices were sold by year end).
