I think it's a Regal "Concept" only from the standpoint that there may be trim details to be finalized for the U.S. market and GM hasn't decided when it's going on sale.
Probably trying to spur some interest and public feedback.

30thZ286speed,
Can we get over this by now. Look GM isn't going to bring back Pontiac, PERIOD! I don't want to read about how much you love Pontiac or what not in each thread. I am tired of hearing the whining about Pontiac by now.
Lets move on, ok?

why??
oh edit: someone else also was wondering outloud on your comment.
Hey I own a Pontiac and proud of it but the bottom line is that many in the know have said and given reason why..I accept and beleive it and it makes a case why Pontiac is gone..If Pontiac being gone is going to make a stronger Chevy and Buick I say long live pontiac as what it was! Not what it was going to be!

No, he saying GM should have kept Pontiac going, but with the profitable models. Insignia/Regal would have made a great G6/Grand Am, Astra would have made a good Pontiac too. Basically just sell the profitable Opels and Holdens as Pontiacs.

And it also doesn't make sense for Chinese buyers to buy the "big American car" when Americans don't have them anymore - which would cost GM a fortune in lost revenue and profits and market share in China - they cannot afford to drop any of it.
In the end it was a financial decision made by a company on the verge of collapse. It would have been avoided had GM been smart 15 years ago forward. Was GM? No. We know this. We've known this for a decade. And now the piper had to be paid and the bottom line was drawn.
Get over it. Whats done is done.

I'm guessing the Regal will start at around $25K, and I can't imagine a $25K G6 or Grand Am. This was always a segment priced more in the mainstream.
