Question What are the top ten cars that you would like to own - and could ?

What are the top ten cars that you would like to own - and could ? This should be interesting to see - these are the cars GM would have to make us choose a 5th gen over.

Here are the rules:

1) Cars must be 2004 Calender year or older, and need not be new.

2) No "Vaporware" cars, they have to be real.

3) Cars must be within your financial reach - I.E. cars that you can afford now, or within the next few years.

4) You are allowed one wild card (in case you win the lottery.
-------------------------------------------

Here's mine in no particular order:
  • Mazda Miata
  • 1970 Datsun 240Z
  • C5 (or C6) Corvette
  • Lotus Elise
  • Split Bumper Camaro
  • Austin Healey, MG or Triumph
  • Mini (New or old)
  • Bullitt Mustang
  • BMW M Coupe
  • Wild Card: Ford GT

Umm I don't have 10, but the intention is to buy a 2002 Camaro SS this spring...perhaps a 35th Edition? I'd consider the GTO if I had a bit more money in reserve. I just don't like the 99+ Mustangs....

Yes, those are my pretty basic and unexciting plans.

'85-'89 IROC-Z

'85-'86 GLH Turbo

Alfa Romeo GTV6

Triumph TR3/TR4/TR6

Porsche 944 Turbo/ 928

70 1/2 split bumper Z/28

Used BMW M3/M coupe

Cosworth Vega

Turbo Regal (I'd rather have a T-Type rather than a Grand National)

'68-'72 Nova

That's 10 just off the top of my head...by I could easily go to 50.

*WILD CARD*

Ferrari 550 Maranello

I like Z28's thinking

1) '87-'89 IROC 350

2) '02 Formula Firehawk

3) '85-'88 Monte Carlo SS

4) 20th Anniversary T/A

5) '87-'92 Trans Am GTA

6) Any LT1 WS6 Ram Air car

7) '88-'90 Corvette

8) Any year GN

9) '88 Fiero GT

Wild Card...

C6 ZL1

You can see my '80s bias...either the IROC or the Hawk WILL BE my next car, unless the 5th gen is an all-out knockout. Its gonna take an awesome car to get me to spend 3x the price a mint IROC will cost me.

And of course, I would not trade my 30th for any of these But there are several that are real, legitimate purchase options once my GP is paid off

Honestly, right now I think I'm just going to buy a really cheap beater and save up a good sized downpayment for a 5th gen. As long as it handles really well and has some decent power for a good price, I'll probably bite.

On to the list!

lol My cars are mostly all old!

1981-83 Datsun 280ZX
88 Fiero GT
85 Corolla GTS
90-91 Mazda RX7
late 80's Nissan 240SX (with the SR20DET conversion)
4th gen Formula or Firehawk
C5

Really really really wild card (as in it didn't come the US)

Lancia Delta Integrale

Basically, I just have 3 real requirements: the car MUST be RWD (or AWD, but I personally prefer RWD), the car MUST be a manual transmission, and the car MUST have a good power/weight ratio. If the third gens came with a manual and a 350, there would be at least one of those on my list

I'm liking all the mentions of IROC-Zs and Third Gens so far.
