Closest I can do right now is an 89 But the 94 (or whatever the last year was) would've been highly similar. 2 different 89's shown here: http://89tempest.8k.com/pics.htm

Sharp little PMD product, if I do say so myself.

The name "Solstice" is meaningless in automotive terms - kind of like Chevrolet "Equinox." Similarly, the name Tempest was blighted by being attached to a Canadian version of the Chevy Corsica.

How about the name GTU? It would be a great marketing bookend for the revived GTO and both names refer to displacement categories in racing. (GTU is under 3-liters, GTO is over.) The name is short, modern and was last attached to a model of Mazda RX-7 back in the late 80s. If the name is available - the trademark has surely expired by now - that would be my pick.

GTU

What do Camaro, Firebird, Corvette, Chevelle, Mustang, Crown Victoria, Accord, Camry, or just about any other car's name have as far as "meaning in automotive terms" that Solstice and Equinox don't have?!?

As far as GTU... that was used as the uplevel Chevy Beretta for a few years (87-89 I believe)... I don't think that would really be the best choice...

That is exacly what i was thinking. Maybe RP should tell this to his superiors at GM to not call it a Firebird of Sunfire.
