To me (and im an idiot), askin someone what they care about in buying a new car is like asking a woman what she wants in a man. And, we all know the differences between what a woman 'says' she wants, and what she ends up getting. All you get is a typical generic answer.

Even better its like asking a southern Baptist why the love Jesus or what they like most about church. You get a response full of "curch phrases."

*except the women of Camaroz28.com, who are perfect...

A vehicle would have to be a real gas hog to be considered a reason for not purchasing it, to me...
I'd say purchase price has to be number one...if you can't afford it, there's no need to look further.
And, I know we're not the "average" buyer, but appearance has got to rank up there pretty high. I don't think anyone wants to be seen in a car they think is ugly, usually just the opposite. They want a car that they'd love people to see them driving.
Gas milage, to me, is one of those things that, if you're really undecided and could go either way, might get you off the fence...
I can't remember ever buying a car based on fuel economy alone, ever...or even considered it a major factor.

well i cant tell you what other people think but this is how i thought.

when i bought my 07 cobalt ls i just wanted a cheap high gas mileage car which i paid 14g for and one thing that made me lean towards it was the 5/100000 mile warranty on the drive train.

i plan on buying a 06 z71 off road off a family member next year or the year after cause every they trade in there vehicle every 3 years. but since i already have a high MPG car the gas mileage doesn’t really bother me nor would a performance car if i bought it cause i figure ill just use the cobalt for commuting.

I think if people have one high mileage car in there drive way they would be more open to buying a low gas mileage car

This is my priority for a car:
STYLE, price, performance(ie., most performace for the price), safety, comfort, and economy.
Everything except for exotic V12s get better gas milage then my car so anything I buy is going to be equal or better. Besides that I really don't mind my gas milage at all. I'd prefer more, but it really means nothing to me.
