so i was in the washington DC area and on top of a car hauler were two cars, both were draped in similar body cammo that you'd see in many spy pictures of future vehicles.

the body cammo was all white, very bulky, and had the AUDI rings printed across it very large. there were small slits for the tail lights and headlights and all of the windows were fully uncovered.

i got a few pics but they're on my camera phone and its cable is at home


one car looked to be 4 door and the other looked to be a 2 door.


does AUDI have a test facility up here or something? this was near crystal city in the southwest side.

 

Audi has a 2 door supercar type car coming out . How large was the 4 door ? A4 size , A6 size , A8 size ? They do have a S-8 coming out , but its already been shown . Im clueless on the 4 door .

 

i'm not sure how big the different audi's are, but it looked to be about the size of an accord maybe slightly bigger?

 

Ya know what though . I just thought of this . I worked at Audi dealer for 3 years . When the new cars are delivered on the transporter , they are delivered completely covered in a white plastic film , even that disc brakes have this protective film . Wheels have white circular groved caps , and the there are slits for the lights . Most of them have a solar panel strip in the windsheild too for the battery . And yes they do have HUGE dark blue Audi rings

You probabaly just saw a new TT and a new A4 on the way to the dealership .

My only guess is , its a long way from Germany . Thru all the sea salt , rail dust , ect ect . A mercedes basically comes wrapped the same way . Oh it a pure joy to get it all off too

 

I actually saw one behind the audi dealership here in similair drab. hoped it was an S8, but went and checked (so I pulled a little on the camo, no one was looking!) and it was just an A6

 

What you saw was the packaging that Audi ships their cars in. It's white with the red rings on it. I know Porsche does something very similar with its cars

 

They do it to protect from road dirt, grime, transportation dust, etc.

I'd find it hard to believe if my audi A4 came wrapped fully in a car condom because it had quite a bit of crap that needed to be claybared off the day I got it (I probably never will though - heck I haven't even waxed it yet, since it's a rental)
