What Kappa car do YOU want?

So which car/concept do you like the best, from what you've seen and heard?

Saturn Cruve - VX Lightning - Pontiac Solstic - Chevy Nomad

Chevy Sportster

Oh yah, I picked the VX

I choose Lightning....but I'm 50/50 on Solstice/Lightning

The Nomad does NOTHING for me.

I voted Nomad---I need a coupe not a vert. The Solstice is a done deal anyhow--and we know they will make more then one variant.

I love the Solstice. Id take a 260hp 2.4 Solstice GXP! I kind of like the Nomad because its useful. I kind of want a hatch.

1. How about none of the above?

C&D's review of the preproduction Solsitice has put me off all of the Kappa cars. It looks like the Solstice will repeat all of the failings of the original (and current) Mazda Miata. I have no need for a car with limited legroom, or a windshield frame that bisects my vision. If GM wants to produce a car exclusively for women and men under 6 feet tall, they can count me out.

2. You left the Saab 9-4 off the list. Oddly enough, a Saab sportscar is the most "historically appropriate" of the projected Kappa cars, at least for those of us who remember the old Saab Sonnet.

redzed why the hell are you even here? All you do is talk about how nothing pleases you and you contribute nothing to the community. I am thinking we should ostrcise you if you don't say something meaningful.

Calling JasonD what do we have to do to have someone banned?

Unlike alot of people who like to run down the F4 Camaro, I give credit where credit is due. The F-bodies were great cars, the last generation B-bodies (especially the LT-1s) were great cars, and even the G-bodies were good for their era. I love the outgoing Corvette C5, but that is the last car on GM's current production slate that I can deem world class or worthy of my purchase.

I'm also amazed that Daimler-Chrysler is starting to produce revolutionary products (300C, Magnum...) and Ford is bringing out a credible Mustang while GM is still hanging out the "come tommorrow" sign.

If empty headed praise of all things domestic and General Motors seems "meaningful" to you, what does that say about your limited tastes? Granted, alot of people around here have an "axe to grind" because they make their living from the domestic auto industry, or more specifically GM, and buy theirs cars cheap because of employee discounts.

This I appreciate, it is a well thought out discussion of what you do like and I would assume that there are many other's here that would like to hear more than I think it is crap and looks like crap. Which is mostly what I read from your posts, I don't read them all because I get tired of hearing the same crap.

I DON"T see empty headed praise of all things domestic and General Motors on this board. I see critiques that comment on both good and bad points. I have very wide ranging tastes from the Scion tc to the Aztek. I like many different vehicles and their appropriate manufactures, I would have to say if I could buy any new car today as a daily driver it would be a Infinity G35 coupe in blue with a six speed. I can also say there are cars from GM that I would buy because of practicallity, the current Impala is a classy looking car that still doesn't look stale. I would say the same thing about the Toyota Camry, while it is a little to small for my tastes I think it is a well built car with a nice interior that will do the job for most people quite well. That is why these cars sell well.

I have NO connection with GM but I like their vehicles and I have found a great network of people online who like their vehicles also and we can share preferences and tastes about their vehicles with each other in a mostly mature manner. I also like the LX cars, the new F150, the G35 and a host of other cars but I have had Chevy since my 84 s-10 and I have seen nothing to show me that another brand can offer to me right now that makes me change my allegience, same thing happens with Hondas and every other brand.

I am just saying instead of saying cars suck how about we have a better critique about what you don't like about the car and what you do like about the car before we condemn it to the scap pile, ok?

Taking a break from the brewing heated exchange developing, above, the VX that seems to be a favorite is infact the new Saturn version of the Kappa.

The Curve as shown isn't going to be what Saturn is actually going to make.

Nomad ...

Nothing in that group will replace the SS convertible as a "toy".

The Nomad would be an ideal commuter/grocery getter ...basically a car version of what the first gen 2 door S - Blazer/ Jimmy that both my wife and I still consider our favorite daily driver vehicle.

The same could be said for "empty headed criticism".
