What impact has Nesbitt had at Chevy?

Just what the subject says. I remember reading a large article on Brian Nesbitt right after he was hired to be a lead Chevy stylist. The "incredible" young talent that designed the PT Cruiser for Chrysler was going to invigorate Chevy's lineup...but I haven't heard anything about him since. I don't even think any of GM's concepts have been designed by him. So I'm very curious...what impact has he had, or will he have, at Chevrolet? What exactly is his role now?

He was attending alot of Chevy events when he 1st got to GM, especially Camaro shows.

Given the length of time it takes to get things cycled through the auto industry pipeline, it would be 3 to 4 years after he was hired before any creations completly done by him hit the streets.

I'm not really sure his job is designing any concepts, since that's now being handled by GM's performance division, and even beforehand, concepts tend to be done by junior people either using ideas from planned production cars, or occasional ideas from top designers (ie: the Ford 427 wasn't done by J. Mays, but a junior designer).

Ideas Nesbitt comes up with could end up in concept form done by another part of the studio charged with doing those (GM has a studio out here in LA that does concepts & ideas), but unless he's underemployed at the moment (doubtful given Chevrolet's upcomming introduction schedule) I doubt he'd be working on concepts.

Bob Lutz was hired by GM almost 2 years ago, and the 1st cars whose design was only slightly altered by him are just now showing up (Grand Prix & GTO). Those were too far along for him to have more than a minor influence. Cars he was able to have a bigger influence on (like the new Regal or Cavalier) will be out a little later.

The first all Lutz cars (like the Roadmaster or Monte Carlo replacement) won't be out till 2006/7). Nesbitt was hired about the same time (give or take a couple of months), so it will still be a while before his stuff hits the streets.

What ever influence he may have on the Camaro....I can tell you that his favorite years are the '67 and'68.

I thought Nesbitt did the SS concept, or at least had a hand in it?
