What if GM said, no GTO, but you can have this...

Looks like somebody made a 4-door GTO, and made it breed with an Evo or STi. Their child is that car.
Which I happen to prefer in looks to the current GTO by a wide margin. Though I understand a lot of people will prefer the current GTO's understated looks.

the front fog area painted black, along with the side vents..... don't help the car at all.
The interior is nice, and I WANT to like the rest of the car, but its not happening.

Ya know...... judging by the headrests, I wonder if these aren't the 1st production version of the Camaro concept seats.
As for this instead of GTO, or even a fill in for one (the headrests say "GTS"), it's as loud and over the top as the current GTO is low-keyed and stealthy.
Not quite my style, but in black or midnight blue, I might be persuaded.
Also, like the Skyline once had, this car also has 'video game favorite' written all over it.

Looks like Darth Vader had his way with the new VE?
You know...everyone says the current GTO is bland and understated, but after having one for 3 weeks now, I must say it gets more stares than any car I have owned. People certainly know what it is, and recognize it.
That being said, I do not see why both a two, and four door version of the car cannot be exported to the US. Holden is engineering both...so why not send both?
I know a lot of people like to say that a GTO will never sell more than 15,000 units, but i really think that is an underestimate. The current GTO was held back more by it's lack of trunk space, and option than any other factor. If GM can find a way to take that car, make it a coupe, turn the styling down 15%, fix the rear entry issues (and not by adding doors) and offer some options, they will have no trouble selling every GTO they make.

Depending on the actual size of the car, and with a more American front end...I could see it doing well here. Just dont call it a GTO.
