Well fellow car-prophets , what car do you think will win most of the "2005 Car of the year awards" from car mags and etc. next year at this time?

05 Corvette
05 Mustang
05 Magnum
05 300C
05 Cobalt

Please add some that you think are more qualified to win next years awards!!

Should be interesting... I'd say all of those you mentioned have a shot, except maybe the Magnum, IMO.

I'll throw the 2005 Cadillac STS and 2005 Cadillac CTS-CV into the mix as well....

I almost put the CTS-V up there but I wasnt sure it would qualify since its not an"ALL-NEW" vehicle but If it can qualify I think it has a good shot as well.

If its not a overpriced **** car it can't win. They only are allowed to have an Domestic car once a decade.

It'll the the "Feel Good Car of the Year".....It usually is.

So I'd say a dead heat between Mustange and Corvette.

Can we say XLR-V or Escalade-V (V12!)? Seriously I would say Vette it is a car EVERYBODY, but a small few, will want. A true HALO car.

Wow...these articles should be interesting next year... Any of those could win it depending on the magazine and amount of bias...

Isn't the 7-Series getting a re-skin next year (because the new one was so "well received")? There's your Car Of The Year.

I think with MT's track record the winner will be the 300C. I remember when the 300M won the competition a few years ago amid some good competition. I also believe that though the C6 and Mustang will win lots of praise they will fall short when it comes to "practicality" and "everyday civility"

Didn't Nissan Z win last year? Not the most practical car around IMO.

It's not about comparing the cars together it's about which made the biggest impact in it's segment and on the market....Remember your SGA elections in High School? Well, it's a little like that. Not always the best person....usually the most popular.

That will be the last day I read MT if a 4000 lbs, aero-dynamics-like-a-brick, 350 HP full sizer is going to beat a 3000 lbs, aero-dynamics-like-a-****, 400 HP sport coupe...

Do you realize it's actually getting harder to pick a COY, and NOT because there's no good cars?

Just think:
GTO, Mustang, CTSv, Magnum, 300C, XLR, STS, and a whole slew more.
