What ever happened to the hyundai genesis

Everyone thought that the genesis coupe would be a great car, and it would be a camaro killer. I haven't seen a single genesis yet, and no one anywhere is talking about them.

Were they a flop? Are they just not on the streets yet?

You must just be unlucky. There are quite a few around Lejeune.

I see more Genesis coupes on a daily basis than I see Camaros.

When Hyundai reports sales...they combine the coupe & sedan together. Last month they sold just over 2,300 of them (coupe & sedan) and that was their best month yet. Based on those numbers I wouldn't say they are flying off the lot when compared to Camaro & Mustang...but for a Hyundai I'd say they are doing well...

I have only seen 2 couples on the road & haven't seen any sedans (not sure I would notice it)....the local dealership has several.

the problem is that they are so bland, they blend in to everything else on the road

I haven't seen any around here, including on the dealer lot. New Bern is ALOT smaller than jacksonville though.

Is that a good # for them. It seems low, but I don't know thier normal sales volume.

I've seen one sedan and one coupe. I had to do a double take with the coupe. from the front it looks like just another Hyundai. The car really blends in, unlike the Camaro, '01 Mustang, or Challenger.

Sales are terrible too, Sedan and coupe combined sell less than 2000 units a month.

I actually see more Aston Martins and Ferrari's than Genesis coupes and sedans.

it was never going to be a Camaro killer. Not real likely to be cross shopped anyhow. The 4cly TURBO built lightly on options has some appeal to me but I have not driven one.

Think they need a good 240hp though...

I saw a loaded to the hilt one V6 at a dealer--39K (CANADIAN $$$) you can get a 1SS Camaro for that!

I have seen 1 Genesis Coupe and 3 or 4 sedans (could be the same sedan, I think one lives in the neighborhood). I am guessing they are not selling well.

Have not seen one and I live in the heavily congested VA/DC/MD area. I commute 72 miles each way and see everything you can think of on a regular basis...even a Dukes of hazard replica but not a single one of these.

2+2 coupe with a 304hp V6 and a 4cyl with more hp than the Mustang V6 and it won't be cross shopped?

Just b/c it has similar stats doesn't mean it will have similar interest. When people are looking for a pony car, do they think Genesis Coupe? Most likely not. That is why it isn't getting cross shopped as much.

Have seen 2 sedans and 0 coupes on the streets. Only place i've seen the coupe has been on dealer lots. I've seen a good # of new camaro's and mustangs though.

It's a very nice car and it would have sold fairly well imo had it not competed with icons like the mustang and camaro for market share...especially when the camaro and mustang are as good as they are right now.
