I think GM is trying way too hard there. I'm sorry, but young buyers are going to go purchase a Mazda 6 or Accord way before they consider a dressed up Impalla with a body kit. The Monte isnt as bad, but still... trying to get young buyers with a car that has very little overall appeal to them just wont work.
Leave that segment for other cars like the new G6 thats coming out.

I like them both. The monte's rear angle view looks good but the front is ok.... I like the black rims with the polished lip.
The Impala looks nice except for the color. I LOVE the exhaust outlets in the rear and the front is spruced up enough to make it appealing to me.

Impala = :blah:
Monte Carlo =
(as usual)
However, I do like dark painted wheels with a polished rim, so that is good. It doesn't change the overall appearance of either enough for me to really take notice, though.

don't like how the monte carlo looks up front
dont' like how the impala looks out back
don't like either of them since they are FWD.. IMHO, FWD are for practical people haulers,.. ie the car I would keep stock and expect to drive reliabally into the ground for at least 75-100k+ miles before any downtime.

The current Impala's body style is just too frumpy to do much with. You can put a leather biker jacket on my Grandma....but it's still my Grandma.
The Monte...well, I always thought the Monte looks many times better with larger aftermarket wheels, but I've never been a fan of the "J-Lo" rump and awkward tail lights.
Either way, they aren't going to look worlds more aggressive without completely re-doing the sheet metal.

I agree with everything you said!
The wheels on the Monte Carlo looked nice, but I didn't like the front. It doesn't seem like a Monte Carlo without the knight emblem.
As for the Impala, WTF?! The only people I see looking for Impala's are the elderly, and I don't think that style will appeal to them.
