What did you pay for your NEW vehicle
What did you pay for your NEW vehicle
Informal poll to those who bought a their vehicle NEW for 2002 or 2003 to get an idea of what the average price of a new vehicle. One posted estimate says $21,000, and another one says $30,000. I'm going to guess the average is going to be in the high 20s, but we'll see.
Please list what did you buy, what did it list for, and what did you pay. Every so often, I add up and average what's posted and post the running average.

Wont this be much higher than the average? We drive performance cars. Anyhow...
02 Z-28
T-Tops, Equipment package, Z-rated tires, chrome rims, sticker price of 27,xxx. I paid a hair under 25k for it but my roll over took it up to around 29k. Ill vote for a hair under 25k though.

Well, its as close as I can get, but.....
I bought an 02 tahoe LT for ~27K, but it was slightly used, and I'm on order for an 04 GTO, supposedly capped at 35K, and I'm paying sticker for it.
I also bought an 02 impala new, sticker of almost 24K, paid 18,900 if I remember correctly.
I think I voted for 30+, because I forgot about the impala
but I guess the real average would be ~27K

2002 V6 Camaro, t-tops, power everything, pretty much fully loaded except for suspension and stereo.
sticker was like 23,500, paid 21,000
For the same price I could have gotten a barebones Z28, but chose options over performance, kinda regretting now after driving the 3.8 for a year. But, I did have the choice.
30-35k for high performace is too much. 30-35k for high performance with a ton of options is about right. A WS6 should be in the low 30's, a base Formula (6 speed, no t-tops, 16in wheels, yadda yadda yadda) should be in the mid 20's. A base Z28 should be in the low 20's (no pop up headlights and other small things that come with the Pontiac standard that would be optional or not available on the Chevy).
