What did I just see?
What did I just see?
So I was driving down I-470 today and I saw a new yellow '05 (I guess) Mustang pass me. It had a old-style black Cobra II stripe going down the front fender and then straight along the bottom of the car, just a GFX package I thought. I also noticed that it was quite loud. It had an emblem on the front fender where the usual emblem was, but it was smaller. I didn't think anything of it until he ended up in front of me and then I noticed it. It had dealer plates, and an odd rear badge. It hit me. The badge was the normal round '05 Mustang badge except it had an old style Cobra II emblem in the middle of it and the circular piece of metal around it said Ford. Then I noticed something else. At first I thought it was a dealer sticker like they put on all cars. But I read it. It said "Built By Shelby" and I about freaked out right there. It was a new Cobra. At least I think. So we get to the point where the highway splits off and I can get a better side view of it. The emblem on the side was also the Cobra II serpent with the small square badge below it that said Cobra.
There was an older man driving it and the car was perfectly clean. I'm not sure what to make of it. I didn't get a front view of the car, so I couldn't tell you what the front looked like.

Sorry about the poor quality, I wa fumbling with the cameraphone just to get some pictures and I couldn't figure out how to get it to zoom in on the "Built By Shelby" part.

Re: What did I just see?
A bit odd that what is likely a preproduction car would have dealer plates... I would think it'd have manufacturer plates. Anyone like to clarify that?
Of course, it could also be a private individual who stuck some badges on it...
But the taillights look different in that picture, a mark of Cobras from the past couple years...

Re: What did I just see?
The upcoming Shelby GT 500 is not called Cobra, and has no Cobra script anywhere. It has the Cobra logos, but it isn't called Cobra (that name's being saved for the Ford GT successor).
What you probally saw was a dealer package, since it had dealer and not manufacturer plates.
