This seems rather ridiculous to me.... You cant even walk into the dealership and drive away in a car? LOL.

Thats funny, the only way Toyota could convince their existing dealer network to sell the Scions was not have their dealers buy any Scions upfront and only buy the cars as they are actually sold. Doesnt create much faith in the new brand if you ask me, but on the otherhand it makes the dealers investment in the new Scion brand rather inexpensive.

It kind of reminds me when my local indoor shopping mall actually had a Saturn dealer inside and it even had its own store front and everything (right next to a shoe store). Needless to say that while it was initially cool to check out cars in the indoor mall the idea must not have produced results because it has been 5 years since the storefront Saturn showroom closed up.

That'd be the last strategy I'd use for those things, giving people that extra week to decide they've made the worst mistake of their lives.

Does anyone else think this could bring up quality (rattle, etc) issues as well?

I mean, chopping up pre-made cras, and re-installing options seems 'risky' to me...

They're really, really scared of this car (the dealers, that is) . . . and for good reason.

Port of Long Beach, huh?

Seems I'm going to have to snoop around down here one day after work.

I think Toyota may be missing the mark....

I'm forty-something ... and I'd seriously consider an XA as a grocery getter.

As to the delivery system ...if they can make it work ...good for them ...a major knock against the imports around here is that there's not a lot of room for equipping them to personal preferences.

I think they're trying to beat the Aztek in the ugliness category. That's a close second!!

It looks for now that that is still one thing Aztek leads in.

"Vehicles" like the Scion models, the Aztek, and the Element are great, because they ensure we'll have something disposable and totally undignified to use in demolition derby's in the future.
