V8 W bodies
V8 W bodies
Off thisforum I have heard that the 5.3L will come out this fall in the Impala and Grand Prix.
Now I also heard this about 2 years ago. Is this a 100% for sure thing? If so, what changed? Transmission ect?

Bonneville GXP already comes with a 275HP Northstar 4.6L V8
Does anyone know if the mid-lux platform can support AWD? A 5.3L AWD Monte Carlo would be nice to have.

The Chevy V8 W cars are purely a marketing move. Chevy needs some V8 cars...other than Corvette.
I'm not really sure if the 5.3 will actually outperform the SC 3800 though. The V8 will be heavily torque managed for transaxle durability reasons. Power production has never been an issue with the SC V6.....it's always been about transaxle life.
So it will be with the 5.3.....but "marketing" likes V8 better than V6 in this case.
