Updated Charger styled after '99 R/T Concept Car?
Autoblog have posted a commentary about the Chrysler presentation. The whole post is here:

One of their comments is "Slide #32: Is this the next-gen Dodge Charger or just the Charger R/T Concept?"
This is the slide:

That is clearly not the '99 Charger R/T concept. It has different windows (2 piece rear vs. 1 piece on the concept), a different C pillar, regular door handles, and from that angle you can see there is actually no opening in the fender vent as on the concept (where it's quite deep) - it's just a character line giving the same effect.
A person identifying themselves as a dealer on the thread says it is indeed the new Charger. If that is the case, I say bravo, Dodge! I can't wait to see what the rest of the car looks like!

One of my salespeople just commented to me "it looks like a Pontiac."
No wonder I love it I wish there were more pics! I've always loved driving the current Chargers, but the looks have always left me cold.

I kinda figured the next gen Charger would take on more of the iconic late 60's Chargers as that was the was the idea for the '99 concept car. Modern retroism works. Look no further than the Camaro, Mustang and Challenger. I like it from what little is seen. I just hope the nose and tail are done well. That will make or break it.

Interesting....I am willing to bet it would allow them to hare some front end bits with the Challenger. It does look like they are going after Pontiac's old base. One of the slides even says "Soul by design...."

I wouldn't go as far as expecting a 1999 Charger Concept lookalike. The side sheetmetal will have the same sculpturing, but the beltline will be higher (typical with LX cars) and the front end is supposedly a more modernized version of the existing one.
There's a couple of people already talking about the Charger's new design.
Should see it in Detroit the 1st week in January.
