Undisguised Ford Fusion pics.
Re: Undisguised Ford Fusion pics.
I don't think its a rip off of the CTS. Not enough sharp edges. If I squint hard enough, I could MAYBE see a little CTS in that car.
Still it looks real nice though, so is it going to be FWD, AWD, RWD? What sort of motor? Is Ford going to come out with anything to compete with the Chrysler LX cars or not?
GM eventually will when we get Zeta cars.

Re: Undisguised Ford Fusion pics.
Only thing that comes close to CTS is headlights imo. Looks more like a rounded version of the 427 concept from a couple of years back.
I actually like it. If they can get an AWD version with a sub-250hp 3.5L Duratec and 6spd auto for around or under 25k, they'd have a winner on hand.

Re: Undisguised Ford Fusion pics.
There is a large thread on BON on the car. Some, who seem to be in the know, have said that a fully loaded AWD auto (6-speed), with the 3.5L, is supposed to top out at $26K.
If that is the case, then they should sell a boat load.

If it does, then Pontiac is going to half to be VERY competitive with its pricing of the G6 AWD version (aka selling it for the same price as a FWD sells for). I don't see $26k for this car with AWD, at all...

I don't know if a fully loaded example of the fusion would come in at the mentioned 26k, but i have no doubts about a well optioned one with AWD and 3.5L Duratec coming in at or around 26k. If the 500 can, why can't the fusion?
Now i know where i saw those headlights, the Mercury Mountanier.

Re: Undisguised Ford Fusion pics.
I guess my next question is: Why is Ford going to have the 500 and the Fusion in their lineup? Isn't that a tad redundant (especially if they are around the same price point like Gold_Rush pointed out)?

I hope the Fusion is priced a bit less, but there will definitly be some overlap in terms of pricing. I guess the 500 will be the bigger/roomier of the two with the fusion being the more sporty/stylish. The fusion (like the malibu) will probaly have a 4 banger option (i've heard two 4cylinders with one being a hybrid) while the 500 will be limited to a v6 much like the Impala.
We'll see how successful they are in seperating the two.
