Honda had a 600,000 car recall the other day, that make one wonder

 

actually, i believe there were 6 guys that reported the problem in that thread.... hmmm....

steered the car and gave too much gas? what does that mean? you can turn and accel at the same time in a vette? lol

 

i don't know how the vette works but i know the the vanquish (aston martin) would do something similar. too much tq.

 

Hmmm...it really sounds like an improper installation of the crank pulley. I know for the LS1, the bolt is torque-to-yield. When installing a pulley, you need to use the old pulley bolt and tighten it down to 250 lb/ft. Then, you remove the bolt and install a NEW bolt and torque it to spec...

 

wow .. I rather hope its just a manfacturing problem(pully/bolt not assembled right), not a massive fundamental design flaw!!

 

The front suspension has to be removed to remove the C6 crank pulley. After reinstalling the suspension the car has to be realigned. Wow.

 

Damn, I guess we'll all have to send our C6's back.

 

Not good...

Happened to one guy twice. Were I the area service rep I'd get on the horn with GM engineering posthaste and get a procedure for pinning the crank pulley like NOW.

I saw it yesterday. Truth is, things like that happen, especially on first year cars. I cant honestly say that I'm suprised. I'm sure 2 or 3 more things will pop up before the end of the year.
