TVR to America!!!!
TVR to America!!!!
I was flipping thru the millions of useless Dish chanels when I saw that Swordfish was on, so I started watching it and there was a TVR, Tuscan I think. I remeber reading in MT, Car and driver and such that TVR was going to ruturn to the US market. I know they have been avalable in Canada off and on in recent years. Who was or is going to import them to the US. They make a few ZO6 priced cars that out perform it.... It would make an interesting addition to the US sports car Market.
And they look like SEX! in car form.
Something like 390hp, 2600lbs. All out of an N/A straight 6

Some nice designs: T 350, CHIMAERA, TAMORA, of which CHIMAERA gets my vote.
Interesting piece of information. They have Cerbera with three engine choices, a V8, a straight-6, and another V8
4.2L V8
360 BHP @ 6500 rpm
320 ft-lbs @ 4500 rpm
0-60 4.2s
0-100 9.9s
top speed 180 mph
straight-6
4.0L I6
350 BHP @ 6800 rpm
330 ft-lbs @ 5000 rpm
0-60 4.4s
0-100 10.2s
top speed 170 mph
4.5L V8
420 bhp @ 6750 rpm
380 ft.lbs @ 5500 rpm
0 to 60 3.9 secs
0 to 100 8.3 secs
0 to 150 17.9 secs
top speed 195 mph
Those are some choices!! I like the idea of a budget V8. And I like another ideo of straight-6 that actually has MORE torque than its V8 sibling!!

I can't say I despise the following specs of T440 R either:
Specification
Engine: 6-cylinder inline alloy engine with 4 valves per cylinder and dry sump lubrication
Capacity:
3996 cc
Max Power:
440 bhp @ 7600 rpm
Max torque:
350 ft.lbs @ 6000 rpm
Ahh..... and the performance. Quoting the website "60 mph is attained in under 4 seconds but it is from there to its top speed of 215 mph that the Tuscan R really leaves the competition standing"

Their most common car, the one in Swordfish and the one that's about C5 priced with some awesome performance, is the Tuscan. It's also my personal favorite as far as looks.
I also own one, in Gran Turismo 3.

What are the chances of us getting the Tuscan here in the states. Does anyone gray market import them here like the skyline. Or is there any truth to TVR making a formal US return?
