Trapped in Canada... this blows...

I mean, Canada doesn't suck or anything, but I'm SOOO bored. Been here for nearly two weeks. Not a thing to do.

We're launching a new product for GM on "**** me a miracle" timing, so I've got to babysit the Tier 2 until they get everything straightened out.

GM, do you see the things I do for you??? Do you care???

Anybody wanna argue about something? I'll be semi-nice.

Who's the supplier in Penatang? I used to have suppliers in Midland.

Anyways, go to the beaches there. Lots of hotties to keep the mind occupied.

Plastics company.

In their defence, I'll leave their name out of it.

Got a hottie at home... I miss her.

I miss the Busa too, and even Stupid, our dog.

Dude, I FEEL YOUR PAIN.

When we start up a new glass furnace, I HAVE to be there - 12-on, 12-off, for however many days/weeks it takes to get the process going. Typically 2-4 weeks. What Saturday? Sunday was when? Days run together, and after the first 5 to 7 days of this chit, you are so beat (emotionally and physically) that you don't even CARE about recreation (clubs, beach, sightseeing - whatever your fancy), you just want REST, and to sleep in your own bed.

Hang in there! Remember, you ain't the only poor bastage that has to do goofy chit like this!

PS - if you really want to argue, let's both start bashing the retarded managers that, while getting a manicure on the way to the Country Club, decide what a competent engineer can do and how much money/how long he thinks the engineer needs to do the job. By the time anybody asks a TRUE COMPETENT ENGINEER what it might take, the whole freakin' project is already laid out and funded... then I get to try to chit miracles and make it happen. Heaven forbid I spend more money than they gave me (on overtime, overnight air, or shop break-in fees) to get done on time, or miss a deadline. Then I get called in front of the Bean-Counting Deity to explain my sins to the goofy bastage that screwed me from the start.

Now, grab THAT and run with it!

Oh, and while we're at it, let's just say something or anything on any future vehicle or 5th gen. So that this thread could legally stay where it is posted.

Just as a sidepoint: I feel our 5th Gen forum needs its own lounge. Anything of the lounge material posted by us in the general lounge would definitely get buried in the heaps of mildly useless to completely worthless posts.

Re: Trapped in Canada... this blows...

Word of advice to our American friend: despite popular mis-opinion, French Canada is NOT the best Canada. Of course, most of us here already know that due certain events linked to St. Therese, which is in Quebec.

I live in Toronto, how far away (and in which direction) is this place of which you speak?

For shame muckz:-), your own back yard, Penetanguishene is located on the southerly tip of Georgian Bay. With only 8,500 people it's pretty small though... I think I'd be bored and I live pretty much on the edge of the continent logistically pretty far from the hub of activity.

here's a question for you. why can't diesels continue to make torque in the upper RPM range like gasoline engines?

I thought all diesel engines had rediculously low rpm range, till i saw the Euro Accord diesel redline, which was something like 6,000 rpms.

the redline keeps inching up, but if you look at the power peak, it hasn't buged much from around the mid 4k mark since common rail tech was introduced almost 10 years ago. so there's still little benefit in reving a diesel since most of them make the lion's share of torque below 3k rpm.
