Torana news????

Does anyone have any info on the status of the Torana (or its' chassis)? I have found a few rumors around the internet that it is closer to being approved? I can't imagine it has gone that far in the past few months but there hasn't been much info recently. Thanks.

It has mucho support. But just like Z said, it's all about money.

GM has ALOT of cars in the pipe line they have to pay for before starting something new.

The support is there...that's for sure. And like you said, from the VERY TOP.

I hope that GM can find the money very soon. And I hope the large Zeta coupe is not called Camaro.

Yeah, I just hope that the Zeta coupe ends up being the Monte Carlo replacement and not the Camaro substitute......and certainly not called Camaro.

If Camaro had any chance to make it to a 6th gen, naming the large Zeta coupe Camaro...simply for expediency's sake, would be the final nail in it's coffin.

How big is this Chevy Zeta coupe going to be? Same as GTO? what ever happened to a shorter Zeta?

The shorter Zeta never existed....it was all vaporware. Zeta will come in two sizes.

1) Large

2) Extra Large

Yes, but isn't one of the two going to be the next GTO?

Yes.
The smallest it will go is GTO (or GTO+) sized.

And why the rolling eyes, are you in a bad mood again?

Here's where I throw in my now familiar reminder that the GTO is about the same size as the Mustang... A PONY CAR.

Okey-doke. I hope another 100,000 people per year....for the next, oh say, 10 years, agree with you.....I'd doubt it though.

The Zeta coupe sounds like waaaay more of a Monte Carlo replacement to me than a Camaro.

No arguments there... although I'd rather see it called Lumina (which it is already overseas), Chevelle, or something else.

Haven't some people been saying that it might be a 'niche' vehicle when it comes back? We only need 100,000 for the whole next 10 years to agree on it

I still like the Zeta as a platform for the next gen as much as the Torana...IF they can make it aggressive like the last animation Kris made for us, little bigger/at LEAST the same size as a Mustang, powerful, RWD (or with AWD as an option), 2+2 then I have no problems.
