Question Time for some real NEWS

I know you were expecting to hear something Earth shattering but we all know which guy(s) hold that information and he/they aren't talking, YET. As we wait patiently I think of when would the contract end. My guess is 365 days after the last car rolled off the assembly line, or somewhere close to that. Guess where we are guys not to far off of this. We have heard that news is coming within the next 2 months, GMI. We have heard be patient it is a hiatus not a death. On August 28th, 2002 the last Camaros and Firebirds ran off the lines at St. Terese. I think we will hear something soon afterwords about our beloved Camaro.

Does this make sense to you guys?

And remember that Scott is going to be there to "talk about the 5th gen." Now I would like to point out that this is only speculation by a 22 year old who does NOT know anything about desiging cars and has NO inside knowlege.

****Everything I have said in this thread is Purely Speculation****

*****I don't want everyone getting our hopes up like we did when we saw drawings of the SS concept.*******

I don't remember Branden saying anything at GMI regarding hearing any news but I actually felt that with RP's thread title that maybe there was hope. I also have this feeling that some any announcement "relating" to the platform is just as good to those of us that follow this stuff very closely therefore I don't expect anyone to flat out say "the camaro is coming back" but will head us in the right direction with a few good hints.

I am expecting something along these lines at the F-bod gathering in KY but unfortunately it looks like I won't be able to make it though I am trying my best. I also have a suspicion that there may be an interesting no-name concept there with serious powertrain hints and suspension ideas.

DISCLAIMER:

This post is entirely speculation from my part and does not mean there is any truth to my post.

Let's see here:

1) This makes sense.
2) The company we are dealing with is GM.

Due to the fact that the words "makes sense" and "GM" are polar opposites, I suspect this will NOT happen. Damn you GM...

FACT: Branden says there will be news in two months...
COMMENT:Note the dates. Branden's post was dated August 4th. The Corvette Museum labor day celebration will from September 19th to the 21st. This is approximately 2 months. More like a month and a half from August 4th, but close enough.

FACT: Mervz says he will be there with Branden when it happens.
COMMENT: To me, this implies that they are not going to break the news. Someone else will. There will be a press release or a comment made by a GM exec somewhere.

FACT: The National Corvette Museum's website lists that on Friday, September 19th at 4:15pm they will present the brick and give a "SSecret presentation." The next event listed will be at 4:30pm for a group photo.
COMMENT: Someone's pulling a fast one on us. That was no whisper in the ear hint, that's a was a punch in the face.

CONCLUSION: There will be a presentation of something at Bowling Green. I don't think it will be news conference about 5th gen, or something huge like that. It's too soon after the end of the 4th gen for an official 5th gen announcement. If the CAW contract myth is true, then it would be too soon to talk. The CAW myth says that the contract will die in 2004.

What will be presented I'm not sure, but I can take a good guess at it. I'm guessing a concept. With the GOINGOS survey going as reported on this site, I believe that car will be shown. It will be a NEW SS concept, revised and updated. It will be lower in stance, with only two doors, and be smaller.

It's only a guess folks! There's probably a 95% chance I'm wrong. Branden could you PM me with one word: warm or cold? I'm dying to know.

My prediction is that a 2 door concept that closely resembles the recent SS concept is unveiled to be the next Camaro. Either that or an announcement will be made concerning either the Camaro or the SS's greenlight for production.

If it's not a Camaro I could probably care less. I want to hear official Camaro news or nothing basically, it's about time.

I haven't kept up with automobile news lately so I could be totally wrong on this.

Is it not possible they are going to show a final version of the C6? Is it ready to be shown or what. I don't know. Although that SSecret seems indicate a SS of some sort.
