this is a theory of mine, what if the people in charge of designing the camaros let GM get rid of it for a while (3 years) to let them be happy (sales weren't good or whatever), so they are helping them to create the new-age sportscars, (bengal solstice), then maybe they will get more income to research new technologies, so that they can use this new tech stuff in an almost unreal 5th gen camaro (and whatever else i'm sure)

 

Let's hope that's what they are doing.
