Test drove a 370Z, Genesis coupe, and an STI yesterday

Day job involves iPhone, Android, and Blackberry dev on occasion, so we have all the phones around. Lately been using the latest Droid instead of my increasingly-flaky iPhone. It has Google turn-by-turn nav.
But to contribute: yeah, that's why I never got into the "gotta have nav, gnar!" camp--car manufacturers should concentrate on making great cars, not great piles of soon-to-be-obsolete electronics.
We'll soon be holding all the computing power we'd ever need in our hands, and we don't have to worry about our car's dashboard display looking like Coleco Pong in a few years.
Investing in electronics in the dash has always been a bad bet--the FM radio in the '66 Vette was a $1200 option (in today's dollars), the CD player in my '93 Vette was part of a $1600 Bose system (in '93 dollars) . . . so I buy the car, not the gadgets.

Thankyou! Overall, I'm really happy with the purchase experience. I got the car at MSRP with 1,250 off in rebates so I think I did pretty well for it being one of the hottest cars in America right now. It's Cyber Grey with silver stripes, and is just gorgeous. I didn't think I'd like it, but after seeing it in person in the sunlight, I was sold.

That's great!As for the nav. I think the Camaro should offer one because the competition does and it is a popular option. But for practical purposes I don't know if it's really any better than what most cell phones can do today. I know the iPhone I have with Google maps does a very good job.

I fear you are right. 
Of course, I think the 3-Series convertible is near such a weight. So is the Infiniti G37 droptop. I know they are hardtops, but regardless of the cause, the weight is there. And they don't offer 426 hp to offset the porkage.
