Suzuki GSXR-6000

Just got to thinking yesterday about how a manufacturer of cars like Suzuki or Kia or Hyundai can separate themselves from the pack in North America, since they all kind of blend in to a sea of faceless, nameless brands that offer appliances at a low price...

What if they built a ponycar type machine??? No pansy 4 forced induction 4 cylinders... a big old snorting 6.0 liter V8 instead... (GSXR-6000.... get it? )

Heck, any one of the three would probably be pleased as punch to sell 40,000 of anything... which they probably could of the right ponycar. Suzuki, in particular, already has an arrangement with GM... maybe GM would sell them the LS2/T-56 combo...

Oh well, just an idle thought... but I wonder when some manufacturer other than the Big 2 and 1/2 is going to hit upon that idea...

Next gen M3 will use the ponycar formula when it gets a 400+ hp V8.
Of course, it'll probably be priced in Z06 territory.

I always wondered what it would be like if kawasaki made a car.Prolly like plymouth in the late '60's early 70's with hemi's and 440 6 packs.Just pure muscle and no frills.

I never pictured Suzuki and big motors or muscle cars. I'd like for them to put their cycle-tech to use and come out with a no-compromise *****-to-the-walls sports-car. Something that can deliver the dynamics of a bike, but with the body of a car. Something along the lines of the Lotus elise. No fluff, luxury, or other bs. Just an all-out performance machine with weight figures south of 2,000lbs (preferably 18XXlbs). Toss in a highly tuned midship 4 banger, etc.... and price it around 30-32k and i'd probably be all over it.

A Ninja car? I'd buy it!
Actually I have wished one of the Japanese motorcycle comnpanies would put the same type of engineering in a car that they put into Ninjas and GSXRs. What awesome performance that would produce...
