If anybody would like to, answer these questions in a reply:

1. What do you use your f-body for? [everyday driver/weekend fun car/ race car]

2. How many people do you normally have in the car counting yourself? [1/2/3/4]

3. Do you ever use your f-body for grocery or other shopping? [yes/no]

4. Do you use your f-body more as a family car or more as your toy?

5. About how many hundred/thousand miles do you put on your f-body every year?

6. Is your f-body your only car? If not, what is your other car(s)?

7. Give only ONE or TWO short reasons for buying each of your cars (or just f-body if it is your only car).

8. On the 5th gen; hatchback or trunk?

9. On the 5th gen; aerodynamic like 4th gen or brick like CTS (or, if you rather, brick like most 1st gen based concepts)?

10. If there were a version of the 5th gen that was only a 2 seater, would you likely buy it instead of a Corvette or 4-seat Camaro?

11. Would you be interested in optional equipment like paddle shifters, GPS navigation, heated seats, dual climate controls, or any other comfort/entertainment items that were not offered on the 4th gens? Or do you just want a low tech 5th gen with just a shifter, headlight switch, air conditioner, and etc like the 4th gens?
1) Its my everyday race car

2) Varies, I do have 4 people in my car every once and a while..

3) Yes, I get the groceries in her

4) Both, A car thats fun to drive from point a to b..

5) Ive owned the car a month, and 1800 miles on it so far...(75.8k on the clock)

6) For now its my only car for now, I'll by a beater before next winter

7) Its fun to dive and its a beautiful work of art imo..

8) I dont car, as long as it looks good.

9) Once again, as long as it looks good I do not care.(and is not an overweight piggy)

10) I'll by a vette then

11) I would personally would like all those luxury things to be an option, because I would opt for them...But they should be options..
I would like heated seats, nav, TTops, all the gizmos.

But at least here, you know the people here are old enough to own Camaros.... or at least cars.

Re: Survey: What do you use your F-body for?

1. What do you use your f-body for?
every day driver

2. How many people do you normally have in the car counting yourself?
1

3. Do you ever use your f-body for grocery or other shopping?
yes, so I need some kind of trunk space, but I've never had a problem.

4. Do you use your f-body more as a family car or more as your toy?
I use it as an everything car.

5. About how many hundred/thousand miles do you put on your f-body every year?
At the rate I'm going, about 10-12000

6. Is your f-body your only car? If not, what is your other car(s)?
Yes, but if I had the money, I'd also have an SUV around for when I need to haul home big stuff, or for when conditions are rainy or snowy.

7. Give only ONE or TWO short reasons for buying each of your cars (or just f-body if it is your only car).
Cheap, easy to mod American V8 RWD sports car.

8. On the 5th gen; hatchback or trunk?
In a hatchback, when T-tops are off, virtually all the cargo inside the car is waiting for someone to come by and steal it. With a trunk, it'd be locked out of visibility and access. However, if the new Camaro has to be a hatchback, give us a locked area to keep stuff. It wouldn't deter a determined thief, but having everything in plain access is too easy for my liking.

9. On the 5th gen; aerodynamic like 4th gen or brick like CTS (or, if you rather, brick like most 1st gen based concepts)?
Aerodynamic. Not only is it better looking, but better performing. I'd tend to want to get away from the retro stuff, if I want an old car, I'll buy an old car.

10. If there were a version of the 5th gen that was only a 2 seater, would you likely buy it instead of a Corvette or 4-seat Camaro?
No. While I use the 4 seats rarely, they're good to have.

I'd personally like a nav system and paddle shifters, and obviously t-tops, and a digital speedo if they offered it... other than that and the basic AC/heat/power locks/windows, I'd be fine. I don't like too many beeping gizmos in the car with me. All of this should be optional though, for the guy who might want a luxurious Camaro, and the guy who wants a stripped one...

Re: Survey: What do you use your F-body for?

1. What do you use your f-body for? [everyday driver/weekend fun car/ race car]
mostly a weekend fun car

2. How many people do you normally have in the car counting yourself? [1/2/3/4]

one or two, ocasionally more if i have to.

3. Do you ever use your f-body for grocery or other shopping? [yes/no]

no

4. Do you use your f-body more as a family car or more as your toy?
Im only 18, so toy.

5. About how many hundred/thousand miles do you put on your f-body every year? about 3000

6. Is your f-body your only car? If not, what is your other car(s)?

no, 1992 GMC Sierra 2wd, ext cab, 350

7. Give only ONE or TWO short reasons for buying each of your cars (or just f-body if it is your only car).

-Camaro - in high school a guy had a 35th anniversary SS, with open true duals. Hearing that thing every day got to me after a while. Im hooked on these cars permanently now
-Sierra - need a truck to haul my dirt bike, tow stuff, and drive in the winter

8. On the 5th gen; hatchback or trunk?
i dont really care but if i had to choose, trunk.

9. On the 5th gen; aerodynamic like 4th gen or brick like CTS (or, if you rather, brick like most 1st gen based concepts)?
either can look really good, either can look really bad. I dont care as long as it longs good, but again, if i had to choose, brick, because the engine bay would probably be a bit roomier.

I personally wouldnt be interested in any of that, but im a rare breed. Id like to see all of that offered, because i think the general publics reaction would be good. As long I have the option to delete it, im happy. edit: on second thought, i might consider GPS.

Re: Survey: What do you use your F-body for?

1. Everyday driver / occasional fun car (a little autoX)

2. 1

3. Yes

4. Define "family".....I guess a toy would be just for fun and racing only, so a family car for me.

5. 7500/year (I do not drive it while I am at college)

6. Yes, only car.

7. 1) It looks cool (2) T-tops

8. trunk

9. brick

10. No

11. Yes, high end optional equipment. I use my car for more than racing, and a GPS is great for me since I get lost easily. Also, people want more out of their cars today....more than just A/C and ABS as an option.

No way to know for sure, but this sure is a more serious and mature group.

Post it in the lounge and watch it get hijacked:
"I want the next Camaro to have 700 horsepower and be cheap enough for a 17 year old working part time at Wendy's to buy one just like in the 1960s".

Doubtful if things like that are posted by 20+ or 30+ something year olds who actually own a car or drive one that's owned my mom & pop.

Re: Survey: What do you use your F-body for?

Not sure how you got the age factor out of my post, but problably the main reasons are that I do not own an f-body anymore, I don't need tech help for my LS6, and I like to be up on new cars coming out since I sell my soul and try to buy a new car every year or so. But since you mention it, yes. i stopped reading the lounge after a kid posted about how his GF made him a steak and gave him a certificate for a free BJ on "steak and BJ day "and I think he posted her picture with her permission. Maybe its me being 34 now and having a 9 yr old daughter, or maybe the older you get the less stupidity you can tolerate. Maybe its that there is little room in a section like this to be stupid.

Re: Survey: What do you use your F-body for?

I'm 19, in college, and I act like I'm 35... nothing wrong with that . I only read this forum regularly since I can only take so much talking about drinking, sex, drinking to get sex, and sex while drinking. Go check out the "who goes to college" thread in the Texas f-bodys forum or whatever for more on that.
