If anybody would like to, answer these questions in a reply:
1. What do you use your f-body for? [everyday driver/weekend fun car/ race car]
2. How many people do you normally have in the car counting yourself? [1/2/3/4]
3. Do you ever use your f-body for grocery or other shopping? [yes/no]
4. Do you use your f-body more as a family car or more as your toy?
5. About how many hundred/thousand miles do you put on your f-body every year?
6. Is your f-body your only car? If not, what is your other car(s)?
7. Give only ONE or TWO short reasons for buying each of your cars (or just f-body if it is your only car).
8. On the 5th gen; hatchback or trunk?
9. On the 5th gen; aerodynamic like 4th gen or brick like CTS (or, if you rather, brick like most 1st gen based concepts)?
10. If there were a version of the 5th gen that was only a 2 seater, would you likely buy it instead of a Corvette or 4-seat Camaro?
11. Would you be interested in optional equipment like paddle shifters, GPS navigation, heated seats, dual climate controls, or any other comfort/entertainment items that were not offered on the 4th gens? Or do you just want a low tech 5th gen with just a shifter, headlight switch, air conditioner, and etc like the 4th gens?

2) 1, 2 max.
3) Yes
4) Toy
5) Strictly limited to 3k per year the past 4 years and going forward...which tends to be a problem when Bowling Green and back for the F body gathering is 2k alone!!!!!!
6) 2001 Grand Prix GT Coupe
7) Camaro = Because its a Camaro. I love Camaros. I will always own Camaros. I will always own THIS Camaro, and will add an IROC to the family within a couple years, I hope. Grand Prix = Needed something sporty with FWD to keep miles off the Z and go in snow. When I bought it I was driving 30k miles per year...that quickly changed. I wanted something big, reasonably powerful, sporty and comfy...the GP fit all those criteria. Now that I drive half that amount, I feel I could downsize to a Cobalt and still be content, but I do love my big 2 doors

8) PLEASE HATCHBACK...but I know it won't happen. Hatchback = sportier and more practical. I have been amazed how much stuff I used to pack in my '89 RS...again, the Z never carries anything more than groceries.
9) The swoopier the better.
10) Quite possibly...but there won't be.
11) Not interested in all the fluff. Make it optional. I want the normal power goodies (windows/locks/mirrors/seat) with t-tops and a stick. Decent stereo, too. I don't need GPS, heated seats and all that garbage.

2) Usually 2.
3) Yes. It is an everyday car for me. I use it for trips, shopping, and just about everything.
4) Well, a little bit of both. I haul the family around whenever i can, but bought it as a toy/DD for my self. I'm a college student, but my paren'ts are busy people and i do a lot of chores such as picking up siblings and other stuff.
5)The car averaged about 6k miles a year. Like i said earlier, it is only driven half the year, and stored the other half.
6) I no longer own the f-bod, but my other car is a 2001 Cherokee Sport.
7) I bought the f-bod for speed and i liked that specific color. I bought the Jeep for winter use and to haul siblings around. That and i'm not so worried about racking on the miles in the Jeep (100 miles a day) and that was something i didn't want to do in the camaro.
8) Hatch. I just like the rear/roof lines of the 4th gen. It just looked sleek. A trunk would take away from that. But i hope for a more usuable hatch.
9) I liked the aero look but hated the overhangs and the fact that the engine was almostg shoved partway under the dash. So i'm all for aero as long as i have good access to the engine bay and the overhangs aren't too long. But i also like the edgy lines of the Cadillac CTS and even the 99+ mustangs.
10) No. Camaro = 2+2 imo. It doesn't have to pretend to be a sportscar or a cheaper vette.
11) Perhaps DVD Navigation and heated seats, but i don't care for the other things. But i would be more interested in factory performance add-on options like a sports-suspension, exhaust, CAI, body kit, recaro seats, etc..... Options like that mean more to me than things like Navi, heated seats, etc....

Re: Survey: What do you use your F-body for?
What do you use your F-body for? I'd like to know since I am an advertising major. It would be an interesting point-of-view analysis.
If anybody would like to, answer these questions in a reply:
1. What do you use your f-body for? [everyday driver/weekend fun car/ race car] Daily Driver, occasional AutoX, plans to OT since its not my only car now..just need time and $
2. How many people do you normally have in the car counting yourself? [1/2/3/4] mostly just me, 1.. then my fiancee. ocasionally 1 or 2 guys from work for lunch
3. Do you ever use your f-body for grocery or other shopping? [yes/no] yes of course
4. Do you use your f-body more as a family car or more as your toy?
its just the two of us, so both.. If its a nice day out we'll take the Camar out to go shopping/run errands.. but if we feel "lazy", we take the Av..
5. About how many hundred/thousand miles do you put on your f-body every year? 10k
6. Is your f-body your only car? If not, what is your other car(s)?
3 cars for two people, 99 Z28, 04 Avalanche, 97 Tracker (which may or maynot stay)
7. Give only ONE or TWO short reasons for buying each of your cars (or just f-body if it is your only car). Got the Z28 back in 99 - loved Camaro's, wanted a V8 RWD car, LS1
04 Avalanche - always wanted one, for hauling future toys, plan on hauling future family around in it
97 Tracker - Machelle bought that before we really knew each other.. lol May or maynot stay with us
8. On the 5th gen; hatchback or trunk? depends on how it looks
9. On the 5th gen; aerodynamic like 4th gen or brick like CTS (or, if you rather, brick like most 1st gen based concepts)? aero.. although actual aero testing would be nice
10. If there were a version of the 5th gen that was only a 2 seater, would you likely buy it instead of a Corvette or 4-seat Camaro? depends on the pro's and cons
First, I just want a solid car. I can live without the rest, but dual climate controls, and a mp3 player (or easy aux inputs on faceplace ala new Wbody's) would be nice, and not hard to implement

Re: Survey: What do you use your F-body for?
I no longer own an F-body, so I'll answer what I would use a 5th gen for...
1. What do you use your f-body for? mostly weekends, occasional daily stints
2. How many people do you normally have in the car counting yourself? 3 max, but mostly just me
3. Do you ever use your f-body for grocery or other shopping? yes
4. Do you use your f-body more as a family car or more as your toy? little bit of both
5. About how many hundred/thousand miles do you put on your f-body every year? it would probably be 5k a year assuming my SVT is my daily
6. Is your f-body your only car? If not, what is your other car(s)? I currently own my SVT and a '99 Tahoe
7. Give only ONE or TWO short reasons for buying each of your cars (or just f-body if it is your only car). I needed a reliable 4 door~SVT and Tabby wanted an SUV that could tow a boat
8. On the 5th gen; hatchback or trunk? either, I'm not too picky
9. On the 5th gen; aerodynamic like 4th gen or brick like CTS (or, if you rather, brick like most 1st gen based concepts)? again, if it looks good, I'm not too picky
10. If there were a version of the 5th gen that was only a 2 seater, would you likely buy it instead of a Corvette or 4-seat Camaro? no, I would not buy a 2 seat Camaro
I'd like the usual power stuff, an open roof (ttops, targa, vert, etc...) and XM radio; performance options would be cool; other than that~pass!

Or do you just want a low tech 5th gen with just a shifter, headlight switch, air conditioner, and etc like the 4th gens?
2. 2-3
3. Yes
4. I'm the only one who can drive a stick in my household so its more my toy.
5. ~2500-3000 miles
6. No, 95 Blazer-All year daily
7. I wanted a Camaro since I was about 3 years old and a 4th gen has been my dream car since its intro. My Blazer was my mom's old vehicle until she bought an 02 Trailblazer and now I drive her old Blazer instead of driving the Z28 year round.
8. Hatch
9. Aerodynamic like 4th gens
10. No
11. Yes to the GPS, heated seats, etc..
Re: Survey: What do you use your F-body for?
1. Every day driver
2. 2
3. yes
4. Its my only car, so yes
5. about 5 thousand miles although this year will be more because of 2 cross country trips. Must say I averaged 27.5 mpg going to school in august with the AC on the whole way and a completely bottomed out car (had all my stuff in it)
6. My only car. other family members have their own cars
7. It was my brothers car, i got it when he upgraded to an SS. I wanted a Z28 at the time. Anyways I wanted a Camaro because I wanted a car the was fast and could handle pretty well.
8. Id probably like a trunk more
9. I go back and forth on this. I like the looks of brick walls, but hwy mpg of an aerodynamic car is nice.
10. I would go for the 4 seater
11. I think that there should be a nice amount of options that wont make the price sky rocket. me personally. I just want a decent sound system (single disc in dash CD player with good speakers and maybe a factory sub), normal power things (seats, windows, locks), heated seats (I love those things), also a nice thing to have would be an HUD. Those are VERY cool and nice for saftey.

Re: Survey: What do you use your F-body for?
1. What do you use your f-body for? [everyday driver/weekend fun car/ race car]
Our blue 1967 coupe is an everyday driver; the 1995 Z-28 our second/occasional use car, although it was a daily driver when I was single; our gold 1967 RS is strictly an investment and has less than 100 miles on it in two-years.
2. How many people do you normally have in the car counting yourself? [1/2/3/4]
Normally just myself, and occasionally one other driver. (Although I once had five in the gold RS.)
3. Do you ever use your f-body for grocery or other shopping? [yes/no]
Yes.
4. Do you use your f-body more as a family car or more as your toy?
More of a toy as of late, although they are driven daily.
5. About how many hundred/thousand miles do you put on your f-body every year?
The 1995 Z-28 used to see about 10k miles a year, its now far less than that as it is almost 10 years old and has just over 51k miles on it. The blue 1967 coupe was recently finished but I’d have to guess it will be about 8k miles a year. The gold 1967 RS again sees less than 100 miles a year.
6. Is your f-body your only car? If not, what is your other car(s)?
I have three Camaros: (1) 1995 Z-28; (2) 1967 Z-28 clone; (3) 1967 RS (original). My daily driver is a 2002 Chevy Tahoe LS (2WD). We also have a 1996 Chevy Blazer, and a 1996 Mustang GT.
7. Give only ONE or TWO short reasons for buying each of your cars (or just f-body if it is your only car).
I have loved Camaros since I was 13 and the first gens have always been my favorites. I bought the 95 Z-28 because I promised myself a new Camaro for my 30th birthday when the insurance break kicked it. At the time it had all the bells and whistles. We got the Tahoe to replace the Blazer because the blazer was too small. Now my son drives it. The Mustang was purchased for my youngest son, but he now drives the blue 67 coupe, so we’ll be selling it in the spring. My car choices primarily start and stop with Chevrolet.
8. On the 5th gen; hatchback or trunk?
Trunk.
9. On the 5th gen; aerodynamic like 4th gen or brick like CTS (or, if you rather, brick like most 1st gen based concepts)?
Aerodynamic. Screw the 1st gen based concepts.
10. If there were a version of the 5th gen that was only a 2 seater, would you likely buy it instead of a Corvette or 4-seat Camaro?
Why on earth would GM ever build a 2-seat Camaro? Regardless; No, I like back seats, even if no one ever uses them. If it came down to a 2-seater, I’d buy a Corvette.
Give me all the toys, bells and whistles as long as it doesn’t add too much to the price of the car, and doesn’t impact performance negatively.

Re: Survey: What do you use your F-body for?
Wow lots of answers since I last looked. It seems like most of us are on the same page, it just seems that the people yelling "trunk," "retro," and "boxy" are louder in other topics and message boards. It seems like hatch is a little more popular than trunk and "edgy aero" is really really popular.
I'm not totally against a trunk(... well maybe 90%), but since I have grown up riding in the back of our '95 Z28 for the past 10 years, I have always loved the gigantic amount of headroom in the backseat. I could drive that car for an additional 10 years and STILL not spend more hours in the front seat than I have in the back. I'm usually a back seat kinda guy when I'm in a group and I haven't had any good experiences in cars with trunks... In a 98 Mustang the back of my head was on the rear glass with my chin almost on my chest and in a new VW Bug the back of my head bangs on the rear glass EVERYTIME my sister's boyfriend hits a speed bump. In the 4th gen you can fit a ton of stuff in there thanks to the hatch which I really like (then again, they practically had to use a hatch since that giant hump in the back takes up so much room). Having a useless piece of glass in your way has always annoyed me a little when I am loading up someone else's trunk. None of you mentioned being backseaters primarily (even though I didn't exactly ask), so I think my perspective might be a little unique on this.
I think it would be a good idea for GM to produce 2 versions, one with a trunk, one with a hatch. We use our Camaros as SUVs practically --if we have to carry something in a car, we have no other option, so we love the hatchback. (It would be hard to fit a 19 inch monitor, giant computer desktop tower, scanner, and printer in a 4th gen with a trunk.) But those of you who are single and living on your own or just using the car as a toy should be able to get a trunk if that is what you want. I think it would be in Chevy's best interest to produce both versions, especially since the Firebird isn't coming back. However, I would heavily be against different rears or front fascia or anything of the like. It would SUCK if the trunk ones had cooler front ends or even worse... if you could only get the trunk type as a Z28 or SS
.
I'm all for edgy aero, I have no problem with that at all.
The Camaro 2 seater question is there to see if there is a market that Chevy could fill with a 2 seater Camaro. I guess I should have explained in the question that the 2 seater version would be sort of like the race-car ZO6 Camaro. It would be the same size as the 4 seater, but instead of back seats, you just have a shelf of sorts like a Corvette. A 2 seater Camaro would also be able to steal some of the Nissan 350Z market.
About the options, again, I didn't list ones I really really wanted. Don't get me wrong on that, I'm not suggesting I want all these luxury items as I have already said. I am mainly after the paddle shifters and GPS. I just wanted to list several examples of options.
