Interesting article about a "Japanese" car incident where the cruise control was stuck and the breaks didn't deactivate it. Sounds awfully familiar. It seems the press in the UAE is very polite and never mentioning the brand or making anything out of it except a heroic ending. Hmm... what Japanese car could it be?

Handbrake?! Those policemen should of told him to just put it in neutral, it would of ended in 5 seconds vs 45minutes.

 

Not all cars allow you to shift out of drive if the throttle is applied.

It's too bad he couldn't have hit the Coast/Decel button to reduce the Cruise Control setting and slow down.
