That sucks. It was better not knowing and having all that dry English wit from Jeremy to go along with his test drives.
I always figured it was a few drivers that filled the Stig role over the years. I know for the Ferrari FXX test it was Michael Schumacher.

That's BS. The guy knew what he was getting into when agreed to be the un-seen Stig; he signed the confidentiality agreements. And now he's just jealous that he can't make money off his "celebrity" like the other presenters. Thing is, he didn't really do a thing to create The Stig, so why should he profit from it? The whole aura of The Stig was created by Clarkson and Top Gear, so it's perfectly acceptable that they are the ones to reap the benefits.

The Micheal Shumacher thing was part joke part Ferrari not letting anyone other than Shumacher test the car.

BTW it looks like Clarkson is none too impressed:
TOP GEAR host Jeremy Clarkson has given Ben 'The Stig' Collins the new name 'The Greedy Twa+.' [the plus sign is "t" ... damn filters]
The TV presenter, 50, spoke out at a charity event after a week of turmoil when the High Court allowed stunt driver and motor racing driver Ben Colllins to reveal his identity in a book deal with HarperCollins.
The BBC, who make the popular motoring program which is shown on Channel 9, claimed it would breach his contract if his identity was revealed to fans.
Collins, 35, argued he had every right to cash in on Top Gear because presenters Clarkson, Richard Hammond, 40, and James May, 47, have all profited from the show.
“As you may know we’ve had a problem with The Stig," Clarkson said at the charity event in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, where he lives.
"Everyone now knows his real name. It’s The Twa+. Actually to give him his full name it’s The Greedy Twa+."
A member of the audience said: “It was funny when he just came out with it. He is clearly annoyed with Ben Collins.”

What I was getting at is that they don't need to even bother changing it or killing him. The white Simpson racing gear is sort of his trademark now.
As for other colors, some of them have already been used. The Stig's Vegetarian Cousing (in green) tested the Eco car and died, the Stig's Communist cousing (in red) was in the Vietnam special (actually he was edited out of the version that aired). And of course Black Stig is dead too.
