Stage I and stage II release for the cobalt SS
Stage I and stage II release for the cobalt SS
Re: Stage I and stage II release for the cobalt SS
Stage one is injectors and a reflash. Stage II is a smaller pulley; belt and a reflash. The Reflash is the most important part of the kit snice no one has been able to properly tune them yet. Looking at a 10% increase in power for the stage I and a 17% increase for stage II.
We'll know more in about a week when people get to install them and take them to a dyno.
Oh, and its warranty helps it too.

Also they wrote me up a repair ticket to get it installed so there would be no question of when I got it. He told me he called and asked about warranty, 12 months 12k miles or balance of remaining factory warranty!!!! (whichever is LONGER)!!!

Stage 2 17%? Less than 40 horsepower at the flywheel? It had better be relatively inexpensive for that price - like under a grand installed including warranty.
Speaking of that, can you still get an OEM 100k mile warranty with the Stage 2?
Lastly, will there be a Stage 3?

Pricing is seems to be $650 dollars from most dealers. (one has it for $555 plus shipping, havent called to see what shipping would run me here.)
The install is listed as 1.5 hours. Installing yourself does not void the warrenty.(still have to take it to the dealer to get it reflashed.) Not sure how it effects the 100,000 mile warrenty. Though I need to check that out because I have the 100,000 mile warrenty.
If a stage 3 comes out it would likely include a clutch. They were working on a stage 3 to be released at the same time. But this was pushed back due to concerns that the clutch wont hold up to 300 Hp. (and from what people have seen with the aftermarket kits that is a true story)
I just spent $260 bucks for the LS spoiler so I can see out of my rear view mirror. So it will be a few months before I buy the kit. Im ok with being slower than other people and let them test the parts for any realiablity issues.
Stl. No one has a clue if its a different reflash yet. Signs point to yes....There are a few people buying just the stage 1 and going with an aftermarket pulley. They'll be able to tell if it is a different reflash
