Spied test Vue, got photos

I was driving north on I-75 in norther Michigan, near Roscommon when I spotted a Jeep Liberty with Manufacturer's plates. Then I noticed a Vue with manufacturer's plates as well. Only the Vue had an odd exhaust on it. There was also some BMW SUV about the same size as the other two that was keeping pace with them. It did not have a manufacturer's plate.

I know Liberty is getting a diesel. Think this was a test Vue with a diesel?

Photos are in the spy shots album at this link. http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/generalz28/my_photos

My passenger took the photos while I was driving.

Hybrid

NIce finds too bro. I'd get a digital and keep it with me. Spy shots go for some big bucks with a good shot and a popular vehicle.

I never try to sell pics, although I should I guess. I usually keep the digital with me.

So, that was a hybrid then huh?

I think Greenline is a good name for the hybrid line of Saturns.

I thought Greenline was already confirmed quite a while back when Redline was also announced?

Yea, Im not creative enough to make this crap up I wish they coulda brought the vehicles out faster though. Like Lutz said, they kinda missed the mark on the hybird thing even if they didnt think it was useful to have them.

The Liberty diesel is already out, although it's not uncommon for automakers to continue testing after a vehicles launch. You said they had manufacturer plates on the Liberty but not on the BMW.

It could be GM is benching the hybrid Vue against those vehicles, but I'm curious as to how they got their hands on a diesel hybrid with manufacturer plates on it.

Re: Spied test Vue, got photos

I had been thinking magazine test, but the Vue mufflers and trailer hitch looked so hideous I nixed that idea.

A long shot idea here. My dad used to work for GM before retiring. he was part of a "Future Car" program where the automakers and the government worked together to share technology to build a vehicle capable of 80mpg with all of the gadgets and comforts we are used to having.

It's a long shot, but perhaps these vehicles were being tested as part of that program, hence the Manufacturer's plates. Later in the day, unrelated, I saw a new Mustang that either did not have a plate or it was covered by snow. But, it appeared to be a test vehicle of some sort as well. But, it looked like only a 6 cylinder with nothing unsual about it.
