Wow...I assume the video run time (about 8:30) is pretty close to that guys lap time. That's a pretty fast lap at the 'ring....but you're not supposed to pass on the right there. Bad boy.

Kinda funny to see that one corner where most of the spy photos come from.

he is wreckless for a race car driver. many of those types of passes could get you in some trouble in scca racing.

Dude - He's racing GTR class at Nurburgring so I doubt it's SCCA sanctioned since the "A" stands for "America".

Awesome vid BTW, I hadn't seen that before.

Nurburgring is a public track in Germany with a set of rules. One of the rules is you're only supposed to pass on the left on this track. This guy was going so fast that he wasnt waiting for the other drivers to see him and move to the inside so he could pass on the outside. Maybe the other drivers weren't keeping an eye on the mirrors which is also a no-no.

Those passes he made on the inside of a tight corner with a slower car on the high side of a corner....man, now thats dangerous. Especially considering the drivers on that track might not be nearly as good a driver as that guy was.

that was what i was refering to. nurburgring isn't privately owned, but it is government owned, so i could see where the rules you are mentioning would make sense.

and to the poster above, i didn't say he was racing scca, i was just saying that a sanctioning body wouldn't allow such reckless behavior, it doesn't matter how good you are.

Holy crap I was jumping out of my seat on that pass right around the 1:23 mark.

That car was insane! Sounded like he was going 200,000 RPMs sometimes.
