Something funny about the CTSv.

I was thinking how hillarious it'll be to see a Cadillac at the track with ET Streets on the back, probably on mis-matched rims, maybe even some salad shooters! Then it'll line up against tubbed 2nd gens, throw down its 11.9 nearly stock, and drive home.

I doubt this needed its own thread, but I'm tryin to add some humor to an otherwise grim day. And Im just really giddy about this car. Any new news in the pipeline about it?

This is unrelated, but whenever I hear the name Cadillac, I always hear it in Jack Clompus's (sp) voice. The old guy from Seinfeld that lived in Florida in the same complex as Jerry's parents.

"You think I've never ridden in a Cadillac before! 'Cause I've ridden in a Cadillac, HUNDEREDS of times!"

Anybody want to take a stab at what they think the base price the CTSv will be?

Bob Lutz originally said mid 30's. Considering a base CTS is around 29, I don't see why this car has to be more than 39 or 40 grand. As I said it's getting the relatively cheap to manufacture pushrod LS6. It'd be a ripoff at 50 grand

Even if the CTSv comes in at $40K, then one has to wonder what is the marketing reason behind the FWD Pontiac Bonneville GXP, which will also be $40K.

I mean, really! Which would you pick? FWD, V8, 300hp, automatic, Pontiac or a RWD, V8, 400hp, Cadillac with a 6 speed manual!

I wouldn't have to think too hard about it.

40k for a Bonneville? Talk about overpriced!

I don't see the purpose of Bonneville period, but I guess that's a whole other story.

Yeah, but I want to see it break into the 11's with a fake convertible top, white wall tires and gold trim.

for the person that wants a V8 sedan that can't drive a stick and likes FWD(not everybody is a gearhead like us).

Pricing is why Bonneville's sales are so poor.

It is a cool car, but it is priced out of it's market by about 3-5k.

Resale value on Bonneville's is dismal when you look at the MSRP on the car.
