Convertibles suck. I considered compromising with the Sky RL, but now that I have the wealth of info available about the next 2-4 years, I don't think it was a mistake.

What do you do in another 2-4 years when you know what's coming 2-4 years from then?

It's a vicious, sick circle when the General makes 4 different cars that are all on the horizon that we all would love to own.

I looked at a Solstice the other day. Very nice car! I was impressed. but there was one thing that really irritated me...those doggone wrinkles in the convertible top. I could not put up with that, I would either fix it or never put the top up if I had one. Looks sweet with the top down but those wrinkles have got to be fixed.

How bad were the wringles? Do you mean on the actual top part of it, or do you mean near the bottom where the buttress snaps into the trunk? If i'm not mistaken, some guys over at SolsticeForum.com have purchased a chemical treatment, although I can't remember off the top of my head.

I havent had any wrinkle issues out of mine. Infact, from the factory I have not had any issues at all. One of the first 5k made.

Same here. St. Louis doesn't have much convertible weather and the trunk space, extra rigidity, and lower price that would come with a hard top are all very appealing. I would go for a hardtop Sky first, though.

Just seems like the top should fit better than that.

+1 to the it looks too much like a wagon look. There are other aftermarket hard tops that look much better than that.

I didn't mean to make my post so harsh. I love the Sky and Solstice, but I am a bigger guy, and it would have been a snug fit. It wasn't too bad, but enough to make me worry about my ability to go through the gears without bumping my elbow on the cupholder behind my shoulder.

So please don't take it that I hated the cars, I am sure if there was one in the garage I would be singing its praises.

A hardtop Solstice GXP would be hard to resist for my first new car purchase in a few years if it ever is built....

A retractable hardtop is what I would want, and not looking like a wannabe mini-station wagon either.
