Nope. I just love their cars. My family had Dodges and Fords when I was a kid, then my bro got a 57 Chevy followed by a 64 Impala SS... and all I've ever owned was GM cars & trucks

What is a controllable auto light option? Does that mean you can actually turn it off so it's not DRL's?

The official '04 press release said 225/50/17, and it ending up getting 245/45/17"s. I imagine this is the same typo.

You have four modes in the GTO for the headlights. Off, parking lamps, headlights, and AUTO. By putting it on the "off" position, you effectively bypass having your headlights come on at night for you.

guionM is irresponsible, short-sighted, and an "eager beaver"? Interesting comment. You'll excuse me if I have a somewhat different opinion of him. My perception is that he tries to share every shred of information with us that he can, and that he is a straight-shooter....not even sort of resembling a GM apologist.

Know what I mean, Vern?

....and as was stated before; this was NOT the first place it was posted. I saw this on two other boards before it appeared over here.

Interesting that the hood with scoops is "available"... sounds like it will be an option.

That is a little surprising, since they seemed to try to keep the options to basically none, with only the transmission choice being optional for 2004.

I find it very neat. I also want to bookmark this thread. A guy at work said the GTO would be on a short list of cars for him "if only it had hood scoops" I think he will have to buy one now.

I love it when 22-year-old Scion-driving marketing pukes who have never SEEN a 1964 GTO write press releases.

The original had "6.5 litre" badges, not 6.0.

This release clearly isn't ready for prime time. Either that, or GM has nobody left to review little factoids like that.

how many people think that the hood on the GTO in "the last ride" with the hood scoops was a preview of what the hood will look like in 05?

EDIT:

here's the pic if you didn;t see it.

I do! I think all the added body parts from the movie will be part of the list of aftermarket pieces you can have added thru GM. I could be way off though.

Ugh! That grille/front bumper/air dam assembly is horrid! And I'm not too down with the hood, either. At least not in conjunction with that front bumper.

I'll take mine with the regular hood, six speed manual, the bigger brakes, and the new right-and-left split exhaust outlets. Oh, and of course the 400 hp would be nice.

I do NOT need this kind of temptation right now. C6 engine and transmission, excellent interior, and room for 4? For 10 grand less than a Vette? 400 hp?! *talks to self* Focus... focus on the house, do heads and cam in the Camaro, you don't need a GTO, the Camaro looks better, you can beat 400 hp with some LT1 mods, the Camaro's paid off, don't look at the GTO...
