oh great...the new sunfire

 

The G5 looks alright... but needs a supercharger to be a star.

 

I know I'll probably get hounded for it... but the front of the G5 makes me think "mini GTO."

 

I think it is a nice enough looking car, and I see a family resemblance with the GTO (a definite good thing in my opinion). Will be interesting to see the GTP and or the GXP models.

I like it, just make sure the supercharged 4 cyl. ends up in there and I may consider one.

 

i second that, dam car does remind me of a mini GTO from the front to the rear. it has many takes off of the GTO

 

It looks good in black. I hope that blacked out headlight buckets and chrome grill inserts become optional, like a Sport appearance Package. Also a GXP with the SC 2.0 or Turbo DI 2.0 would be really nice and fender vents like the GP GXP would make it really sweet!

Glad to see it got new guages also.

 

With the success of the Cobalt, I figured it was only a matter of time. The Sunfire was getting long in the tooth. I actually really dig the G5's front end. But the taillamps are from the G6 and everything else is Cobalt.

I like the fact that Pontiac is finally gonna have a decent entry level car but two things:

-G5 is a pretty uninspiring name. I know they started it with the G6 but for some reason that didnt sound too bad. G5 sounds kinda redundant.

-I thought GM wanted to get away from badge engineering? Now we have a mockup Equinox with an arrowhead and now a Cobalt with an arrowhead. If Pontiac gets an HHR, Im gonna freakin go thru the roof! Give Pontiac some distinct vehicles with their own image, not borrowed ones!

 

Pontiac dealers need a small car, badly...believe me, I know.

The Sunfire, saleswise, was dead by 2002 or so. They need something more than a wagon. I fear the same for Dodge

 

Guagues are the same as the cobalt. Just different inserts.

 

After a look at the website, I see no blown version, and a blatant rebadge...

JUST what Pontiac needed to go up against the Mazda 3

Damaged brand, anyone? Visit your Chevy dealer today if you want the real performance...

 

If I was running the show, they would not have the G5.

 

Im hoping this is a stop gap. At least they are rebadging something good.
