Well my next planned car purchase is going to be around '06-'07 and depending on whats available I might go for an GTO but I am not awe struck by the car like I was when the 4th gen F-Bodies came out back in '93 then again I haven't seen the car in person or drove it yet so I will remain reserved until I get to get into it myself.
I am awe struck on the CTS-V, I might go for a used one in '07 if the price is right. Or maybe a 5th Gen. Camaro if its out in '07 or a RWD V8 ImpalaSS sounds nice if it ever makes it back.
It will come down to whats available when I am ready to buy again. Hopefully things will improve by then.

You bring up a good point, does anyone else see a little irony here? GTO comes back exactly 40 years later, while GM currently has nothing to offer, aside from the the vette. Mustang is completly redone almost exactly 40 years later for 05'. With that said we should expect our camaro for the 07' model year, with the firebird and trans am joining just before launch. Do you guys think they are really trying to relive history? Please GM!!!

not only that but i know dodge wants a muscle car of their own. With that new 5.7 Hemi. Yeah, the muscle car era will be back.

But, with the news that a limited run (~2,000) of LS6 GTOs will hit the road next spring, I am having a little debate The first with the GTO, or the first with The Judge on my block Either way, I am definitely in on the GTO.

PS: I honestly think the yellow/yellow combo will become available on the Judge. Too many people wanted it for it not to make production somewhere
Has a judge option been confirmed yet?? That sure would make my mind up as to get one or not.

Not unless it becomes a convertible with over 400 HP.

GTO was definantly on my list when I was looking at new cars. My problems with it where
1. Not available till next spring
2. Built on soon 2 be obsolete platform

An updated version should be coming out in the next few years, maybe I'll get that one.

Theres no doubt that the 2004 GTO will be a rare ride. The price as well as the somewhat limited production will keep them few and far in between. While the new Mustang will flood the market so fast that it novelty-retro look will wear thin quickly. While I think the next Stang looks good now but I can see myself getting board of it really quickly considering that out here in Southern Calif everyone and their little sister will have one 6 months after it released. V6 convertible Stangs are about as common out here as fake blonds (I think there might be a connction here)

While the new GTO might appear to look a little generic now it will become more unique over time. The new GTO could really be made to look really slick with just an aftermarket induction hood and some more aggresive looking wheels and wider tires.

Everytime I look at pics of the interior of the GTO it makes me overlook some of few things about the GTO I dont like.
