Small request.

Last week some enthusiasts and myself joined a fairly known GM management type after the LA auto show's 1st public day for a small get together & beers.

One of the few less intresting or dramatic things that came out was that anytime someone from GM makes a public statement or a post about anything, it has to be cleared with GM's legal department. It also seems that even if someone from GM visits a chatroom, a lawyer has to be present.

Because of this, I don't feel we should use the real name of our fairly well known visitor. It probally doesn't do much good now (seems some inside GM know about his visits), and he himself came out about who he was, but I don't think it would hurt either.

He is taking a bit of a risk dropping in and posting here, so if we are talking about a post he made, or use his handle in a post, let's use only his handle instead of his name.

(Yes, I'm just as guilty as anyone else)

Not sure who we are talking about, so if you could please go ahead and list his full first and last name followed by his middle initial. A home address and daytime phone number would be handy too!

Anyway, if we can't keep a secret why should we expect anyone to devulge pertinent information???
C'Mon guys. Keep it *hush hush*, you know, on the low down...I mean down low...heh, no doubt!

Thumbs up Good thing

Its a good thing that someone like ... well u know who, or anyone else shows such an interest in our cars, and also what we have to say about them. And hopfully it never costs him his job. Its also refreshing to know that he would actually meet with some of us, should the opportunity arise. Its very cool I had a similar experience when I had a conversation with Eric Buell, about the new for 99 fuell injection. Its great when the people behind the machines, are as much an enthusiast as we are, and do not consider themselves above us. We need more like this.

So he has to have a lawyer clear his posts? Wow, that's hard to believe. Corporate America is so paranoid it cracks me up!

Oh BTW, was the lawyer with him when ya'll were having a few beers?

GM should be happy that he does post here and encourage it. At least it seems as if some1 cares in there once in a while.

I don't know if the information is here as I don't spend any time in the lounge ... but the Fbodfather aka Red Planet is very open about get together opportunities as he travels the show circuit.

I'm not sure if you watch the Simpsons Dax, but all I can picture is the Behind the Laughter episode when they're eating Thanksgiving Dinner.

Marge: So how was your day?

Lawyer: You don't have to answer that!

Don't get to see much of the Simpsons. I don't watch too much TV unless it's sports! But I have seen that particular scene, and it was pretty funny. Wonder if Red has to put up with that?

i kinda feel bad for this mystery source cause this person risks there job even though they aren't telling us in depth information, so ever time the male/female stops in they wink and risk their job just so we can know that little bit more about what comes out tomarrow, thanks
