Thumbs down Silverado SS vs Saturn Vue!?

How messed up is it that the Silverado SS is going to be owned on the streets by a plastic Saturn SUV with HONDA guts

What is SS supposed to stand for anymore anyway?

What are the est performance specs for the Vue?
I thought the SS (according to M/T) did a 15.1 in the 1/4---with a 6.9 to 60mph

I don't know how anyone can get excited about a Saturn SUV with a Honda minivan motor? The Vue is perhaps the ugliest SUV on the market. Could they have made its "tupperware" heritage even more obvious? Saturn makes a virtue out of shoddy build quality.

Of course it's easy to gripe about the expensive Silverado SS. What we should keep in mind, though, is that a sub-7 second 0-60 time is awesome for a beast this heavy. Maybe its heading for a sales disaster, but the market demand for expensive trucks never ceases to amaze.

an 01 GMC C3 once broken in does 0-60 in 6.8 and 1/4mi. in 14.8, So the SS should only be faster.

I like the VUE's exterior styling.

SUV's which I think are harder to look at include:

Aztek, Element, Rendevous, Escape, Tracker, and a host of Japanese SUV's.

At least it's better then a GM minivan motor (3400)

Too bad the Honda 3.5L is not going in the Equinox too---alot better then a 3400 (that is unless GM could put their own hi-hp V6 in it---which they can't or wont)

lets hope the Equinox gets the 3.9L version of the new 3.5L pushrod V6, that should be good for at least 225HP

The good news is that you can get the Honda motor in, get this... a Honda Pilot. Better yet, your new Honda SUV will have a well assembled steel body, not an ill-fitting conglomeration of Rubbermaid-produced plastic panels.

SS = Super S'pensive !

I think that SS stickers for like 40K !

They have a red one up at Mike Hall (Champion Chevrolet) off Highway 6 - nice looking ride, but the $'s are just obscene.

Hmm - how is the Cyclone/Typhoon market these days ?

Whew.. I thought I was the only one that liked it too, especially when comparing it to others in its class.. I didn't get to examine up close, just passed by a couple of them on the highway..

If my gf wanted to get a replacement for her Tracker, we'd be checking out the VUE..

ss = S moked by a S aturn

Actually the Saturn Vue is a nice little SUV. My wife and I have one as well as my Z28 and I really like how well the Vue handles for being an SUV. I also like the fact is has plastic panels like the Camaro that dont ding and will keep it looking good for year to come like my Camaro.
