Anyway, it's great that GM are still relatively strong despite all the doom and gloom...
Nissan was supposed to get a reskinned Ram as their next truck... haven't heard a peep about what's going to happen now... With sales that low, if they can't get a rebadge from someone... it may be time to axe it. The Tundra was supposed to sell 200K units per year to be profitable (I think) sooooo.... ooops
I think Toyota (at least temporarily) has shelved their diesel HD version for now.
It's nice to see Ford/Chevy/Dodge still doing "well" in the truck market.

Great article. The Silverado, Ram and F150 are great trucks and really only brand loyalty, price and options separate them.
It's funny how the news of the Titan and Tundra entering the market and that was to be the end of the Domestic truck dominance but they fought back with better product. Amazing how that works in the trucks but not quite with the cars.
I find it interesting that in the 2500/3500 game that Dodge outpaces Chevy. Ford is untouchable in that area.

But the botched launch (cam failures galore) and many recalls, numerous quality issues combined with high fuel prices soon drove potential buyers away. I don't think Tundra sales have ever fully recovered.
To me the Tundra just wasn't as mature as the Silvy or the F150. It has a great powertrain but you can tell Ford and Chevy have been makeing trucks for a long time. Little stuff like the gauges not quite fitting through the steering wheel on the Tundra. You have to squint. The center stack ergonomics being a bit off. Not enough cubby holes. Suspension being to harsh for long trips.
I love the new F150 save for the motor. It needs a modern motor bad.

My 08 Sierra SLT has been flawless through 1 year/10,000 miles. Averaged 15.3 mpg last weekend hauling 4,000 lb trailer in 95 degree heat @ 65 mph. Given the opportunity, I wouldn't change a thing...
You can thank Dodge's partnership with Cummins for that...lots of people around here swear by the Cummins...both old and new. At the 4-wheel jamboree a year of two ago, there was a late model silverado with a Cummins swapped in place of the Duramax
I like the F150 the best in every other catagory. Smooth ride, quiet, perfect seats for a long haul, great interior, sync. Don't think I'm bashing the Ford. The Toyota on the other hand...I hated compared to the other three. The best way to put it is that the Tundra just wasn't as mature.

The 3v 5.4L puts out plenty of torque, It just doesn't have that high HP number like the other 3. F-150 Raptor will have a 400HP+ 6.2L V8
